Nicola Coughlan has had the best response to comments about her nude scene. During a Q&A session at an event in Dublin, one fan said it was "brave" for the actor to film sex scenes for Bridgerton.
Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington on the Netflix show, responded: "You know, it's hard because I think women are the same size as me - women with perfect breasts," as the audience cheered Then she stopped. "We don't see ourselves on screen enough and I'm so proud to be a part of the Perfect Breasts community. I hope you enjoy meeting them."
Coughlan's response was quickly praised by fans and has since gone viral. "I love her. That's why she's the queen," one fan commented on X (formerly Twitter). "I need to see Luke's face when she says all this," another fan joked, referring to her Bridgerton costar and on-screen love interest who plays Colin Brie Luke Newton at Chiton.
This isn't the first time Coughlan has discussed her sex scenes in "Bridgerton" season 3. In a recent interview with Netflix, she recalled the "pressure" she felt before filming the hilarious carriage scene, in the back of which Colin expresses his love (and lust) for Penelope.
“The fans were horny little devils and they were constantly sending us pictures of carriages and carriages rocking,” Coughlan said. "So, it had to be beautiful, touching, romantic, sexy, and that's a lot of things."
The Derry Girls star also told Ireland's Today FM that filming the nude scenes was a "liberating" experience - even if she had to ask for toned-down versions for family and friends. "I requested a PG version for my mom," she said, joking that Bridgerton series 3 "will be significantly shorter" for her mom.
