A lot happened in Arrow season 4

It feels like an eternity since we last checked in with our favorite Star City residents, but now that the Arrow season 5 premiere is right around the corner, it's time to refresh our memories of everything that happened last season more than ever. more important. Because let’s be honest, the Arrows have been through a lot this year. Since my memory isn't what it used to be (what? I'm almost 30, you guys!), I thought it would be a good idea to take a look back at the best moments from Arrow Season 4, so we don't have to wait until the show returns , completely off base.

From Oliver and Felicity calling off their engagement to the death of a team member, the show's fourth season is pretty much made up of action and emotional turmoil. But hey, isn't that one of the reasons we love it so much? Let's not forget how the team decided to go their separate ways, meaning Team Arrow is no more... at least for the time being. Something tells me they won't be able to resist vigilante justice's call for too long into the new season. But before that, let's take a look back at some of the most prominent plot twists from season four so we can prepare ourselves for what's to come in season five.

Duck era

Damien Darhk was revealed to be the leader of HIVE, responsible for the Ghosts who attempted to take over Star City, ultimately forcing Oliver to return and help Thea, Diggle, and Laurel fight them off. (With a little coaxing from Felicity, of course.) But the team soon realizes that Darhk has powers that even Oliver's fancy arrows can't counter, making him a real threat. He even blackmailed Lance into temporarily working for him by threatening to kill him if he didn't follow instructions.

It was eventually discovered that Dark's long-term plan was to use the Rubicon to detonate all the nuclear weapons in the world so that he could create a new world after the disaster, leaving "valuable" humans safely in a place called Genesis. place until the end of the world. explode. Fortunately, Felicity was able to hack into the system and stop all the missiles except one, which hit the city of Haven Rock. Knowing that Darhk would never stop trying to destroy everything, Oliver decided to break his number one rule and killed Darhk in the season finale, thus ending his reign of terror.

The rise and fall of the canary

When Thea's bloodlust starts to become a real problem, Laurel brings her back to Nanda Parbat to see if Malcolm can help. However, it turns out there's another reason Laurel wants to go there. Still reeling from Sarah's death, Laurel lowered her sister's body into the Lazarus Pit in the hope that it would revive her. However, the initial side effects did make Sara different and more violent than before. With the help of special guest star John Constantine, Sara's soul is restored, but she still suffers from the same bloodlust as Thea and chooses to leave Star City to try to fix things (aka travel to her own spin-offs), Legends of Tomorrow ).

Unfortunately, our other vigilante, Canary, doesn't have a hopeful ending. After Lance testified against him in court, Darhk was sent to prison, unable to use his powers due to Oliver stealing his idol. As you can imagine, he wasn't happy about this and decided to get revenge on Lance by killing Laurel (with the help of Diggle's brother Andy) after Lance finally escaped from prison. She later died in hospital from severe internal injuries.

return of thunder

Remember the big bang at Palmer Tech at the end of Season 3? Well, if you thought Ray Palmer died at that moment, you were dead wrong. (Pun intended. Sorry not sorry.) Thankfully, he managed to shrink himself down to, you guessed it, an ATOM and was able to avoid injury. But the problem is, he soon becomes one of Duck's prisoners. But given the genius that he is, he was able to relay his whereabouts to Felicity so that Team Arrow could rescue him and help him prepare for his own Legends of Tomorrow spinoff story.

The end of Olicity

Fans of the two lovebirds were delighted to see Oliver propose to Felicity mid-season. Not long after, however, horror struck when a car accident left Felicity temporarily a paraplegic. Fortunately, her colleague Curtis has invented a cure for her paralysis, but once she discovers that Oliver has been keeping his son Will's secret from her, it becomes impossible to repair Oliver and Felicity's relationship. She called off the engagement, leading us to believe that love was dead.

Now, we come to the present day - Oliver is the interim mayor of Star City while the rest of the team chooses to go their separate ways. But like I said, I doubt this divide will last long, because if there's one thing these beloved characters can't resist, it's helping each other when they need it most. We'll find out how this all plays out soon enough.
