Bachelor Zach's 'dream job' has nothing to do with his job in tech

Thanks to Zach Shallcross' run on ABC's "The Bachelorette," fans already know a lot about the new bachelor. After Season 19 co-star Rachel Recchia caught him off guard with their eventual breakup late in the game, Zach returned to his career as a tech executive. When the network tapped him to host Season 27 of The Bachelor , he had to take another break while stepping into the spotlight to continue his journey of finding love. According to the California native's LinkedIn, the filming schedule hasn't affected Zach's day job outside of the reality show.

Shortly after graduating from California Polytechnic State University in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in business administration, Zach began working at Oracle in the Austin, Texas area. The cloud technology company positions its services as "providing computing infrastructure and software to organizations around the world, helping them innovate, become more efficient and become more effective." Zach started as a cloud technology consultant in August 2019 and claimed to have closed $1.5 million worth of cloud infrastructure in 2022 alone. He has since been promoted through the ranks and was promoted to senior cloud technology account manager in September 2021.

"My responsibilities include strategically helping Houston businesses enhance, extend and leverage their current software, platforms and infrastructure while educating them on the capabilities offered by Oracle's portfolio," he explained on LinkedIn.

While at Caltech, Zach also tried his hand at the music industry. He uploads remixes and beats to his Soundcloud under the name "Verzacky", which feature a variety of genres, including trap and dubstep. Zach also played football as part of an offensive line that ultimately helped the Broncos finish No. 1 in the nation in team rushing for the fourth consecutive year in 2016.

Although broadcast journalism is not what he studied, Zach recently said that his goal is to become a football commentator. "It's like a dream job," he said in a New York Post interview published on January 21, adding that he expressed it to current Bachelor host (and former NFL player) Jesse Palmer Envy of working in television. "If there's an opportunity, I'd love to. I'd love to try it."

It wouldn't necessarily be a deal breaker if his future wife wasn't such an avid football fan. "I don't think you need to know anything about football," he added to the newspaper. "I think it's important that you know and understand my love for it."

As Zach hinted in another recent interview, he may also have found the one, giving him a happy ending to his season. "I'm happy," he repeated twice in an interview with Variety , adding that fans "just have to tune in" to find out what exactly that means.
