This article explains how to play Roblox on the Meta Quest and Quest 2 virtual reality headsets. Since Roblox doesn't work with the original Quest, you'll need a VR-capable PC and a cable to connect the PC to your Quest.
Roblox is available in the Meta Store and works with Quest 2 and above (i.e. Quest Pro and Quest 3). You can download and run it like any other application.
Unfortunately, playing Roblox on older hardware requires some skills. Please follow the steps below to resolve it and get the game running on your original Meta Quest.
In the Meta Quest application on your computer, click Devices .
Click to add headphones .
Select Tasks and click Continue .
Connect your Quest to your computer using the link cable and click Continue .
Click Continue .
Click Close .
Look for a data access prompt on the headset and allow or deny the request.
You can safely say no as it will not affect the process at all.
On the headset, select Enable .
In the Meta Quest application, click Settings .
Click General .
Enable unknown sources .
Find a VR-enabled Roblox game and click the play button .
If the Roblox game does not launch in VR mode, open settings and select VR .
If you've successfully connected your Quest to your PC and are playing Roblox in Virtual Desktop mode on the headset but don't see the option to enable VR, there's some potential issue.
- The world does not support VR : Not all Roblox games support VR, and supported games may not support the Quest headset. If you don't see the VR option in the game settings menu, try a different Roblox world.
- You have an old or beta version of Roblox : Try uninstalling Roblox and downloading it again directly from the Roblox website. If you have the ability, it may also be helpful to install the application as an administrator.
- You Might Need Steam VR : Try using Quest with Steam VR. Connect your Quest or Quest to your PC using the instructions provided above, but launch SteamVR before proceeding to step 15. Once Steam VR is running, you can launch a Roblox game of your choice and it will automatically open on your Quest in VR mode.
Currently, it is not possible to play Roblox on the Oculus Quest headset without a PC. This could change if Roblox releases a dedicated app for the Oculus Quest at some point in the future.
You can use the Oculus Quest to play Roblox without a cable, but you still need to connect the headset to your PC. This is done using Air Link instead of physical cables.
There are rumors that Roblox will release exclusively for the Oculus Quest headset, but so far, nothing has been officially announced by Meta or Roblox.
