Therabody’s all-in-one facial tool is the only beauty device I’ll ever need

The number of different facial tools out there is enough to make your head spin—and as a beauty editor, I've tried almost all of them. So my own collection of gadgets for stimulating collagen, de-puffing, toning, and destroying acne-causing bacteria (among others) really deserves its own beauty cabinet. Whenever I'm in the mood to give myself a high-tech facial at home, I open my overcrowded drawers and bins and dig through all the different cords, boxes, charging docks, and other accessories looking for the device I'm wearing Find and then queue the corresponding video tutorial on your phone - this will take a while to complete. That's why I'm often too overwhelmed to fully use these gadgets, even though I'm a fan of anything that can make my complexion more radiant.

When I got a sneak peek at the new TheraFace PRO, developed by Therabody (the brand behind the beloved Theragun shock therapy device), I was blown away. Therabody founder and chief wellness officer Dr. Jason Wersland guided a small group of editors through the product's six different modes, and when I followed along and gave myself a facial, I fell in love with it the first time I used it. Basically, it's an all-in-one facial tool that offers just about every skin care technology you could want in an at-home device, from LED light therapy to microcurrent and more. Read on to learn more about why TheraFace PRO is the holy grail of beauty tools.

What is TheraFace PRO?

The overall goal of TheraFace PRO is to optimize people's facial health through a handheld device with interchangeable heads that can perform different actions to improve your skin. If you're wondering how a brand that makes muscle massagers and recovery equipment entered the beauty space, Weisland's reasoning makes sense. At a preview event, he said the product launch comes after Therabody customers kept asking if they could use the Theragun device on their face to treat problems like sinus headaches, migraines and jaw tension.

"We started to realize that as a brand we needed to start thinking above our shoulders," he said. "Everything else we have is for the shoulders down. We wanted to be able to use something that addressed all the same things we do for the body, but on our face. It's all about how we can help people take care of them of facial health." To that end, TheraFace PRO offers six different skin-enhancing modes, allowing you to customize your at-home beauty treatments more conveniently than ever.

How the device works

Now, let’s take a look at all the fun things TheraFace Pro can do:

- Percussion Facial Therapy: It's no surprise: Just like the Theragun works by massaging any tension in the body, TheraFace PRO uses the same combination of frequency, amplitude and torque to remove tension from facial muscles, and it comes with three functions Different head attachments are available to meet different percussion treatment needs (flat head attachments are generally used on the face, neck and chest; cones are used to treat targeted areas such as the eye area and pressure points; micro points are used to increase the volume of larger areas) blood circulation) .

- Cleansing Ring: There's also a cleansing head, which is a silicone brush-like attachment that can be used with tapping therapy for a deeper facial cleanse (Clarisonic fans will love this).

-Microcurrent: This is one of my favorite features. It delivers microcurrent, which uses electric current to tighten and sculpt the skin - the same technology found in the popular NuFace and ZIIP devices. When you buy the device, you get a conductor gel that you apply to your skin beforehand.

-LED Light Therapy: You can also get LED light therapy with three different rings: one that uses red light to stimulate collagen, one that uses blue light to treat breakouts, and a third that uses a combination of red and infrared light to help reduce breakouts. Fine lines and warms skin, temporarily relieving facial discomfort.

You can also purchase the hot and cold rings separately for a more luxurious at-home facial (a combo pair costs $99). Not only will it feel divine when you apply a thermal massage to your skin, but it will help your complexion better absorb previously applied products. The cooling attachment helps shrink pores and reduce redness and puffiness. (I really like these two attachments. )

my skin

I'm in my thirties , so one of my biggest skin concerns is keeping fine lines smooth and as elastic and elastic as possible. While my skin type is normal and a little dry, I can tolerate most things - which is why I love trying beauty tools so much. The more intense the shock, vibration or stimulation, the better.

Of course, I've admitted that I'm not very good at using my facial devices on a regular basis - which essentially renders their effects useless (most require consistent use to get the most benefit). But since I've been exposed to TheraFace PRO, I 've gotten really good at using it almost every day. While I love how effective microcurrent devices and gua sha stones are at sculpting my skin, I'm too lazy to use them because it requires standing in front of a bathroom mirror while watching a tutorial on the proper ritual. However, using microcurrent technology on Therabody products doesn't require that—during a preview event, a brand representative walked us through the protocol, which is pretty simple. All you have to do is apply the conductor gel and slide the device three times along different areas of your face until you hear a beep. This is what I do now when I watch TV.

The design

treatment body

Everything about TheraFace PRO is centered around ease of use. First, each head magnetically snaps into place on the wand, so changing attachments is a breeze. It's also comfortable to hold: The device is lightweight and fits comfortably in the hand. There are only three buttons, one to power on and off, one to adjust the intensity of the treatment, and one to control the intensity of the tapping treatment. If you've ever used Theragun, by the way, it's a much gentler feeling, but the highest intensity is enough to get rid of any tightness on your face.

What's really unique about its design (besides the removable attachment) is that you can use multiple face modes at the same time. You can use its tapping therapy feature while gliding the LED light over your skin or using the cleansing attachment to cleanse your face. Because of this, I use multiple methods at once - it's easy not to.

Is it worth it?

The TheraFace PRO sells for $399 and sits somewhere in the middle of the shelf among traditional beauty devices. It's only slightly more expensive than the $329 NuFace Trinity, about $100 cheaper than the ZIIP, and $200 more expensive than the $199 Foreo Luna cleaning device. In terms of LED devices, LightStim's Anti-Wrinkle Tool costs $249, FYI. But considering you get light therapy, microcurrent, shock therapy , and cleansing capabilities in one device, the $399 price tag is well worth it—and honestly, it's a steal.

final verdict

I love the TheraFace PRO so much that I'm seriously considering donating all the other beauty tools in my cabinet (or at least storing them somewhere deep in my closet). This device really meets all your needs for a facial tool and nothing else. With its sleek design, buffet platter of skin-enhancing modes, and ease of use (read: no need to follow the video to use it—although you can if you want), my face is about to be in the best shape of its life.
