The annual Apple Design Awards competition always brings interesting new apps.
Each year, Apple sponsors the Design Awards, where developers compete to be recognized "for their outstanding design, technical achievements, and innovation." This year’s winners range from mindfulness apps to games.
On Thursday, ahead of its WWDC conference scheduled for June 10, Apple announced the winners of the design awards. These include developers from around the world, such as Happy Juice Games and Gentler Stories, and even big-name companies like Procreate and The New York Times Company.
Winning competitions include:
- Grateful Bear (Isuru Wanasinghe) - Joy and Fun Category
- NYT Games (The New York Times Company) - Pleasure and Fun Category
- oko (AYES) - inclusive category
- Crayola Adventures (Red Games Co.) - Inclusive Category
- Fertility Dream (Procreate) - Innovation Category
- Lost in Play - Innovation Category
- Crouton (Devin Davies) - Interactive Category
- Rytmos (Floppy Disk Club) - Interactive Category
- Gentler Streak Fitness Tracker (Gentler Stories) - Social Impact Category
- Shipwreck (Pixel Hunt) – Social Impact Category
- Rooms (Things, Inc.) - Visual and Graphics Category
- P's Lies (NEOWIZ) - Visual and Graphic Category
- djay pro - DJ application and AI mixer (algoriddim GmbH) - Spatial Computing Category
- Blackbox (Shapes and Stories) - Spatial Computing Category
In addition to the winners, each category also has several finalists, developers who didn't win but were good enough to make it to the finals. These include developers such as 505 Games’ Director’s Cut of Death Stranding and Activision’s Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.
