Aldi now sells pigs wrapped in blankets with candles

From spicy pine to cinnamon and spices, there are many aromas associated with Christmas. Aldi has found a way to replicate the smells in your kitchen all season long.

The retailer's new novelty food candles feature aromatic scents including Pigs in Blanket, Turkey and Stuffing, Brandy Butter Christmas Pudding and Mince Pies, priced at £1.69 each.

The top notes of turkey and undertones of bacon may not be something you've looked for before, but at less than £2 each it's hard not to let your curiosity get the better of you.

After Aldi announced the launch, one fan commented: "[This will] save me the hassle of cooking." Another shopper was equally enthusiastic: "I'm sure mince pies and Christmas puddings would taste great with brandy butter ”

However, some people are a little skeptical of the new scent. "Did Gwyneth Paltrow inspire this idea?" one person joked. Another said: "I love Aldi but these candles are a big no for me. The smell of cooking and food always lingers in your house, duh."

Over the past year, Aldi has built a reputation in homewares and candles. The store's "Numbers" collection is modeled after Jo Malone's scent range: No.1 offers notes of lime, basil and tangerine, while No.12 is scented with amber wood. "Comparable to any top candle on the market! Outstanding! Gorgeous!" said one reviewer. Another wrote: "Love this candle, this is the second year I've bought it. Wish I could get it all year round, amazing scent."
