Peppermint Mocha and Red Cups return to the coffee chain on November 3, and on November 17, free reusable holiday cups will also return for the 2022 season. Here's how to get it this year.

ICYMI, the Starbucks Holiday Cup celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Since its debut in 1997, there have been many creative designs on coffee cups. This year, disposable cups are inspired by vintage wrapping paper and pops of color. While the red cups have been around for a quarter of a century, this is only the fifth year for the reusable holiday cups.

The 2022 reusable cups feature a bright red background with white accents and a message celebrating 25 years of Starbucks holiday cups. As per tradition, the release of the coveted red cup allows customers who arrive early on drop day to get it for free with the purchase of a seasonal beverage.

When is Free Starbucks Cup Day?

You should plan on heading to your local Starbucks this November 17th to try out the reusable holiday cups, while supplies last. All you have to do is order a handcrafted seasonal drink (choose from the holiday or fall menu) to receive a free, limited-edition reusable cup. Beverages eligible for freebies include the iconic Peppermint Mocha, the beloved Ice Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte and the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew.

The best part? You can get a free cup even if you order through the Starbucks app for mobile pickup or delivery - so in theory, you could get a free cup while sitting on your couch.

What are the benefits of Starbucks reusable cups?

In addition to being a collectible (if you try to buy it every year), Starbucks reusable holiday cups offer some additional benefits. For every reusable cup a customer brings to Starbucks (whether it's a holiday cup or otherwise), the customer will receive 10 cents off their order. Essentially, what this all means is that you can get a free cup of coffee and then save some change every time you take it with you during your Starbucks run.

Sadly no. Coffee lovers on this side of the Atlantic won't be able to take advantage of the holiday promotion. In a statement to Bustle, Starbucks said: "This offer is not available at UK Starbucks, but UK customers who want to purchase a reusable holiday cup can order in-store or go to Starbucks via Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats ® Order on takeout service.
