In 2018, the actor, who primarily works on stage, starred in a Denny's commercial. The description of the Irish sausage ad reads: "Henry Denny was a man always willing to try new things and break the rules, especially when it came to curing bacon. His unique and open-minded attitude led to his invention of the drawing machine. Ben Catch Danny in his own spirit."
The ad is a bit cheesy, with Mescal playing a young man who is inspired to travel by the story of Henry Denny. He traveled by bus as far as Ballyhaunis.
