No matter what you want to say, haters, Selena Gomez is working hard to better herself, and she's doing a great job. The "Come & Get It" singer recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and spoke with DeGeneres about how she's coping with all the recent changes in her life, including owning her first home, having a relationship with Living with roommates/best friends in Texas and how to deal with all the changes in life. Working with new managers and new brands. DeGeneres asked Gomez to evaluate herself. She asked the star, "If you reevaluate yourself — and I think it's good for everyone to do that every year — just look at yourself and ask, 'How am I doing? How am I growing?' 'One to ten, where are you?"
Gomez replied:
I am seven years old. I feel like I've been doing this for so long that people are saying, "Be yourself, be who you are," and I'm still trying to figure out who that is. I know I'm not perfect, but I know there are many people who support me and love me. I don't want to let anyone down, so I just try to do my best. It feels awkward to be in your 20s.
DeGeneres is very supportive of Gomez's response, but exactly does spring break mean she's in "seven"?
let's see. Gomez has had a very interesting year. In January, she voluntarily entered rehab for undisclosed reasons. In April, when Gomez began unfollowing the Jenner sisters she hung out with at Coachella, her on-and-off boo Justin Bieber, and her front-row best friend Taylor, Everyone is horrified to discover that her attitude toward friendship has turned nuclear. Swift on Instagram. She then went on some sort of personal Eat, Pray, Love hiatus - which I guess she did, although I don't know if she'd been to Italy and India - and announced it with this Instagram post 's return and promised she would still do it. Love kimchi. She's still the same Selena, back and ready.
She turned 22 on July 22 and celebrated with Cara Delevingne and friends in Saint-Tropez. In September, she went to Paris Fashion Week with her beloved Bieber. Suffice it to say, aside from her rocky relationship with Bieber, she seems to be improving over time.
As a fan of Gomez, I'm tired of hearing that people now view her as a socialite. In 2013, she appeared in two films, including one as Alex Russo in the Wizards of Waverly Place TV movie sequel, returned to the Disney Channel, and toured for her album Stars Dance , but in 2014 In 2016, she was in the news for her relationship with Bieber and her fashion choices, not her movies or songs.
I think Gomez is very smart that she took the time to choose the direction of her career now rather than just doing something that's not true. As she told DeGeneres, being in your 20s is awkward.
"Being 20 is awkward at any time," DeGeneres agreed, "let alone in public with everyone filming everything you do."
Gomez gave a great response:
Yeah, but then I can do some amazing things like use my platform for things like UNICEF or shift everything to something important in the world. This is my strength.
So Gomez isn't sure where she's going, but she's sticking to the positives. She might end up moving to New York with her best friend Swift. Maybe she'll do another album. Maybe she'll say goodbye to Bieber. Regardless, she's trying to make herself comfortable, and considering she's seven, she's doing a pretty good job.
