How real is "The Imitation Game"?

Benedict Cumberbatch is the man of the hour. Even Jon Stewart had a student crush on him. His new film, The Imitation Game, will premiere on November 28th . In "The Imitation Game" , Combabachi plays another British genius, Alan Turing, one of the most famous mathematicians and computer scientists of the 20th century. Turing helped the British Armed Forces break the Nazi N'Gima code during World War II. In return for his efforts, he... was later tried for homosexuality. Not so cool, England. So "The Imitation Game" is obviously a historical suspense film, but how many of the details in it are true? How is this parody game based on a true story?

It turns out it's very real, but many of the smaller details are unclear. The script for The Imitation Game was adapted by screenwriter Graham Moore from Andrew Hodges' biography Alan Turing: The Mystery . As Moore himself said of the brilliant yet tragic Turing who ultimately committed suicide after being convicted of homosexuality: "His life was a mystery. His life was full of secrets. We try to unravel the mystery of Alan Turing " Early reviews of the film seem to confirm that, to some extent, The Imitation Game does address some of Alan Twining's issues; at the very least, it does celebrate his status as a hero.

Cumberbatch is the perfect choice to play Turing, an awkward, misfit and sometimes ruthless man. But how could such a genius with such an important status not be indifferent? According to Entertainment Weekly , the film does a good job of highlighting Turing's secret and private life through the use of flashbacks:

Graham Moore begins by recalling Turing's infatuation with a classmate at boarding school who showed compassion for the loner, before jumping to Turing's 1951 arrest for indecency to flesh out the story. character of.

The film records the major and moving events in Turing's life that ultimately changed the world. The New York Post 's Sarah Stewart explained how Turing cracked "the code on the German Enigma machine, which the Nazis used to send daily encrypted messages about their war activities." Every day, Turing built a machine that A machine capable of breaking codes, his success has been hailed as one of the main reasons for Britain's victory. "

That said, Keira Knightley, who plays Turing's close friend Joan Clark, admitted to The Huffington Post that there were "a lot of inaccuracies."

As far as her relationship with Ellen goes, they are engaged. They are great friends. She was the central figure in cracking the Enigma Code... There are a lot of inaccuracies in the movie about life. I think what's actually said and why they actually got engaged is slightly different than the movie...but unfortunately you have two and a half hours and what you're doing is trying to tell a bigger story, so You have to make a choice. I think what we're trying to achieve is the essence of it.

As with almost all dramas based on a true story, some filmmaking touches are added to tell the story. Although Turing's relationship with Clark was casual, in the end, the story of Turing's achievements in technology and codebreaking unfolded as it should.

The film also explores the tragedy at the end of his life, when he was convicted of indecency and then had to choose a sentence: imprisonment or chemical castration. Although little is known about Turing's personal life, Turing is forever famous because of these two historic events. "The Imitation Game" is bound to be in the Oscar race.
