If You Missed Spring Break, '90s Movies Are Perfect

There are many benefits to being an adult: you no longer have to do homework, you can literally eat whatever you want, and you'll end up feeling 90% less anxious. However, one major drawback is that you no longer enjoy spring break (or summer break). Coming of age means work never stops and vacations are few and far between. but! That doesn't mean you can't still enjoy spring break vicariously through your favorite movies. Is this the same as escaping to a pristine beach? No...but it's cheaper , so there's that.

There are great spring breakers movies from every era, but '90s vacation movies are especially popular. While not everyone is focused on spring break, they do showcase the joys of travel, rest, and relaxation. Basically, you can't just drop everything and do whatever you want because you now have responsibilities. When you naively think summer will never end, by planning a spring break movie night with your closest friends, life might actually just be a long vacation in the sun enjoying the joy of those simpler times.

Make mixed drinks under tiny umbrellas and throw pillows on the floor like a slumber party while watching these '90s gems—after all, you're an adult, and while you may not have a designated spring break, you can now make your own the rule of.

1.Dazed and Confused (1993)

On the first day of summer vacation, a group of teenagers in their 1970s were excited and ready to party. Depending on your outlook on life, their raucous activities might remind you of the debauchery of the good old days or make you glad you were watching TV over the holidays. Regardless, a talented cast of future Hollywood A-listers and a sense of complete freedom make this film a must-see for anyone craving a vacation.

2. The Parent Trap (1998)

Overnight camps, luxury hotels, and lots of poolside antics make The Parent Trap an ideal vacation movie. While the girls are planning a reunion with their estranged parents, you can enjoy the wonderful vacation they take for granted. As an added bonus, you're sure to have seen this movie during spring break as a kid.

3.That Time (1995)

Another childhood classic , Here and Now tells the story of a transformative summer in the lives of four forever friends. They go on adventures, ride bikes, flirt with boys for the first time, and begin to learn who they really are. It's freeing and joyful - perfect if you want to escape for a simple night out.

4.Jurassic Park (1993)

Sure, the dinosaurs will eventually rampage through the park, but hanging out with the cool archaeologists and petting the Brachiosaurus will make the effort of escaping the raptors totally worth it.

5. Paris Passport (1999)

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen know how to spend spring break right. In this movie as light and delicious as marshmallows, they travel to Paris for a week with their grandfather. Watching it as an adult is a holiday for the soul.

6.Before Sunrise (1995)

Looking for something a little more substantial but want the same satisfaction you get from your movie vacation? Then, you can't go wrong with the European train journey, brief romance with strangers and the fun of traveling in Vienna in "Before Dawn" .

7. My Girl 2 (1994)

The sequel finds Vada visiting her Uncle Phil in 1970s Los Angeles. This movie encompasses everything you could want during spring break: exploring a new city, self-discovery, and '90s heartthrob Austin O'Brien. The tar pit scenes alone make this movie worth rewatching - Anna Chlumsky has been killing your emotions since 1991.

8. Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Holidays (1992)

Every self-respecting Tiny Toons fan watched the direct-to-VHS movie at least a dozen times during their childhood. Bubbles and Buster end up floating down the river, Pluggie and Hamilton head to an amusement park for the summer, and Elmira is free to roam the unsuspecting zoo. It's silly and fun - perfect to watch on a warm spring night when you can almost taste summer in the air.

9. Jumanji (1995)

Like Jurassic Park , Jumanji is purely about fulfilling vacation desires. Kids don't rest when they start playing a mystery game that could lead to monkeys wreaking havoc in your kitchen, but their journey just proves that you can have adventures anywhere, anytime.

10. Camping Nowhere (1994)

A group of kids create their own summer camp to avoid spending another summer at a camp they hate. This movie will take you back to your childhood. Not only is it filled with younger versions of your favorite actors like Jonathan Jackson and Jessica Alba, it'll also remind you of all the ways to spend the holidays with friends.

11. Captain Ron (1992)

Movies about vacations spiraling out of control are some of my favorite movies. In real life, you want your vacation to go smoothly, but it's always hilarious to watch a movie family's vacation go from crazier to crazier. Captain Ron is no exception. Watching Martin Short get revealed by the incredibly cool Captain Ron during his own family vacation is a crazy story that might make you thankful you've been working all spring.

Wishing you a happy, movie-filled Spring Break staycation!
