How to dye brown hair pink like Kendall Jenner

Pink hair is still a 2015 hair color trend . Now that Kendall Jenner's hair is going pink, the trend feels even more legitimate as she ditches her signature straight and glossy brown locks for soft, pastel strands. It's already become a hot celebrity shade, with Julianne Hough, Hilary Duff, Kaley Cuoco and Cara Delevingne all wearing it Playing with pink, but for now!

But the model's nod to pink hair gives it more substance, as she's never been one to play with wild coif colors like her little sister Kylie does every other day.

How do brown girls get Kendall's pink hair?

Relatively speaking, light pink hair is more wearable than bright pink hair. But there are many ways to get it, and you can try any shade you want based on your work, school, personal preference, and color base. It's all about what you can get away with and how much you want to commit to pink.

But let's be honest. Kendall Jenner's pale pink hair is most likely a wig, but she owns it.

Kendall's mastery of pink is enough to make you consider going pink, isn't it? If so, you're in luck, because brunettes have a variety of options for getting pink hair temporarily or semi-permanently.

Splat's Hair Chalk in Pink Hearts or Dusty Rose are a quick and easy choice. You can literally spray some hairspray on a strand of hair and apply the colored powder up and down the length of the hair follicle. Or you can just focus on your prompts. It lasts almost all day, and the added bonus is that the chalky product adds some texture and volume to your hair. Place the color wherever you want to creatively create your pink "piece."

You can also try the Sugar Plum shade, which is a purplish pink. You can turn the intensity up or down, depending on how much and where you use the product.

Another option is High Beams Intense Temporary Spray Hair Color in Popstar Pink. It's essentially a spray pant that covers your hair in a rich, bright pink.

This is me with my brown hair and pink bangs! I'm totally rocking two-toned hair and bangs. extra benefits? The colored mist settled on the top of my glasses, adding a cool pink color. I don't mind because it rubs off and these are the night glasses I throw on my face after taking my contacts off.

What about a more permanent option?

Rachel Bodt, senior colorist and pastel hair expert at Cutler, offers some tips on how to achieve pink hair. There are some things to consider, especially when you're a brunette like Kendall.

Bott points out that soft pink hair looks great on all skin tones. You just need to find the right intensity of pink.

Alchemic Conditioner Red, $30, Davines

For a more authentic, at-home-friendly, semi-permanent pink, Bodt recommends using a color-depositing conditioner like Davines Alchemic Conditioner in Red. It will temporarily dye your hair pink. It lasts about five to six washes.

If you want to make a deeper commitment to pink, you should seek the services of a professional. "There are several ways to do this," Bote said in an email to Bustle. "Either go for a full double treatment, bleaching the whole head white and then toning it with a pastel. Or you can do heavy highlights and then top it off with a pink tint."

The highlighting process is less of a commitment, so you can easily return to your natural basics. Bote also recommends purchasing a color protectant from a salon so you can avoid washing the color out every time you wash your hair.

Therefore, brunettes who want to become pink ladies have many options. Plus, you can always wear a wig, just like Nicki Minaj does.

If Kendall Jenner makes you think pink, try these temporary or semi-permanent options. Personally, I love the hair chalk and spray options. They really add color to dark hair, you can get really creative, you don't spend a lot of money, and the results only last once or twice in a wash.
