Taylor Swift continues her philanthropic efforts on Eras tour

Taylor Swift is using her Eras tour to do more than just revisit all 10 of her studio albums on the massive 44-song list. The singer appears to be taking advantage of her touring abilities for good, donating to food banks at every stop on her 20-city, 52-show journey. Ahead of her long-awaited tour opening night at State Farm Stadium in Arizona on March 17, Swift made a surprise donation to the Arizona Food Bank Network, according to the organization's vice president Terri Shoemaker .

"It's not every day that you get a call from Taylor Swift's staff, so we were skeptical at first, but happily it turned out to be absolutely true," Shoemaker told AZ Central ." She added that she was told Swift planned to continue "making a positive impact" in the American communities where she performed. Swift seems to have delivered on that promise.

Ahead of the show in Las Vegas on March 24 and 25, the Las Vegas-based Three Square Food Bank, which specializes in helping families at risk of hunger, said on Instagram, Swift made a "generous" donation but did not specify the amount. ⁣ "We don't know about you, but on March 22nd, we're grateful!" they captioned the post, paying homage to the singer's hit song "22." "@TaylorSwift has made a generous gift to Three Square, allowing us to provide thousands of meals to families and individuals battling hunger. Thank you Ms. Swift for your support of our mission and our local community."

Swift herself has not commented on the donations, as is customary with her philanthropy. Over the years, the 12-time Grammy winner has made donations of all sizes to a variety of causes and people. In March 2020, she donated $3,000 to some fans who had lost their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic, and those fans took to Twitter to make Swift's message and act of generosity public. Later that year, she donated £23,000 to a fundraiser for a British university student to help pay for her first year's tuition fees.

Swift's philanthropic spirit has also spread to her fan base many times. Her 2019 single "You Need to Calm Down" named GLAAD and was used to advocate for the Equality Act, sparking a flood of donations from fans to LGBTQ+ organizations. Many Swifts even donated $13 in honor of her lucky number, and Swift reportedly donated generously as well. Now this is really using your power to do good.
