Succession and Oppenheimer may be the stars of the 2024 Golden Globes, but it's Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez who are grabbing everyone's attention. The longtime friends were photographed whispering to each other at the Jan. 7 awards show, and everyone on X (formerly Twitter) had only one thing to ask: What tea did they spill?
Gomez received her second Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for "Murder in the Building," while Swift was nominated for both Motion Picture and Box Office Achievement, her fifth Golden Globe win. Award nomination.
While the two didn't walk the red carpet together, their meeting at the awards show was inevitable as Swift showed up with friend Keleigh Teller. In a viral video shot between commercials, Gomez can be seen sneaking up behind Swift and giving her a surprise hug. Then things get interesting.

Many fans thought the two were talking about Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner, with one user noting how the camera "went from Timothée and Kylie to Taylor and Selena."
In a video that went viral, Taylor can be heard apparently saying the name "Timothy" and Gomez seemingly nodding back, leading to speculation that she had asked her former costar Chalamet for a photo, but was reportedly rejected by his girlfriend.
However, after E! After posting the rumors on Instagram, Gomez took to the comments section to set the record straight and reveal their gossip, which doesn't involve the couple at all. "No, I told Taylor that two of my friends were dating," she wrote. "It's no one's business."

Regardless of what was said, it didn't take long for Gomez and Swift's impromptu gossip to go viral and become a meme. "Oh I just know Selena Gomez is talking to Taylor about some *shit*. She's me," one fan wrote, before adding, "No but I really need one Professional lip reader.”
Some users came up with jokes to go along with the memes. "Selena told Taylor the Chiefs playoffs are live on Peacock," one fan said, jokingly nodding to Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
