The game of musical chairs continues on The Voice . The network announced in October that original coach Blake Shelton will take one final spin in his red spinner seat when the NBC reality competition series returns for Season 23 in 2023. Shelton, the only celebrity coach to have appeared every season since the show began in 2011, already has eight wins heading into the Season 22 finale on Dec. 13, but he still has a chance to add more Much strength.
"I have been struggling with this for some time and I have decided it is time to leave 'The Voice' after Season 23," Shelton said in a statement in October. "The show has changed in every way. My life, it's always felt like home to me. It's been a hell of a ride performing twice a week. Work, passion and adult beverages (ha!).”
Shelton's wife Gwen Stefani, who he met on the show and is currently a coach on Season 22, also responded to the news on Dec. 5. "This is my last season with Blake...I can't even get the words out of my mouth because it sucks," she told Entertainment Tonight before the semifinals aired live. I love coaching, I love watching competitors grow, I love making an impact, it’s very inspiring to me. And then, most importantly, I met my best friend here who will always be mine. "
Ahead of Sheldon's swan song, here's everything we know so far about The Voice Season 23.
