According to some eagle-eyed Friends fans, Monica and Chandler's romance may have been foreshadowed in season three.
In the 1996 Thanksgiving episode "With Football," Monica (Courteney Cox), Joey (Matt LeBlanc) and Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) Confront Ross (David Schwimmer) and Chandler (Matthew Perry). and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) during a heated football game.
During the game, Monica wore a blue New York Giants sweater, while Chandler wore a Giants hat with the exact same color and logo. Decades later, some fans believe the characters' game-day attire hinted at the extent of their chemistry before their romance began in season five.
"That's just the way they are," one fan commented on Facebook, according to the Daily Mail . "It's such a cute little detail," said another. "Foreshadowing. Amazing. They were meant to be," one user added.
They weren't the only ones matched: Ross and Rachel, who were still a couple at the time, were also dressed similarly, both sporting Nike logos. "Look at Rachel's hat, look at Monica's T-shirt. Can you see what I'm trying to say?" one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
The creators of Friends have never clarified whether these similar costumes were intentional, but that hasn't stopped fans of the show from speculating.
It's one of many details that have been picked up and analyzed online recently. In another video, Reddit users were surprised to find out that Schwimmer played Russ, one of Ross and Rachel's brief love interests, in season 2's "The One With Russ." Speaking of Ross, fans have also recently taken to Reddit to discuss whether his ex-wife Emily Walthom was a hero or villain in seasons 4 and 5. Fans never sleep.
