There's nothing more relatable than Ben Affleck looking in pain while running errands with a cup of Dunkin' Donuts, and paparazzi have spotted him doing just that on multiple occasions. However, his wife Jennifer Lopez swears that's not the case.
Roger Rowe responded to an Affleck paparazzi meme while walking the 2024 Golden Globe Awards red carpet, reassuring fans that the actor was actually "happy."
"Ben is doing fine," she told Entertainment Tonight. "You don't have to worry about Ben, let me tell you. He's fine. He's happy. He's here. He was nominated. He said, 'I'm cold, I don't understand what people want so badly.'"
Like Affleck, Lopez was confused as to why the media focused on her husband's expression and not hers, which usually showed their joy. "They don't notice my face," she said.
“My husband’s happy face”
Affleck's memes peaked at the 2023 Grammy Awards in March, when he accompanied his wife to the show and it seemed like he'd rather be somewhere else.
While promoting Air that month, Lopez joked about her lack of emotion on Instagram and turned screenshots of Affleck's grumpiness into memes. “My husband’s face is filled with happiness,” she wrote.
Affleck directly responded to the Grammy meme during an interview, clarifying that he was actually happy. "I had a great time at the Grammys," he told The Hollywood Reporter .
"My wife was going and I thought, 'Okay, there's going to be great music. This could be fun. There are speeches and mixing webinars at a movie awards show. But I thought this would be fun."
There's no doubt that the Golden Globes were a great night for Affleck, who is nominated for best musical or comedy as a producer on the 2023 film "Air . " He was recognized alongside his good friend Matt Damon, who was nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical.
It's also an exciting time for J. Lo, who is gearing up to release her long-awaited new album and movie , This Is Me...Now , inspired by her 22-year journey with Affleck. Affleck co-wrote the film with her.
"No one knows my story better than him," she told the Economic Times in December. “So we were able to sit down and really dig into it in a way that I don’t think any other writer could have done with me.”
