One of the OG Plastics Returns for 'Mean Girls' Musical

Spoilers for Mean Girls The Musical ahead . Cady Heron is back—and no, I'm not talking about musical movie star Angourie Rice. Lindsay Lohan made a surprise appearance in the new movie "Mean Girls," which premiered in theaters on January 12.

Lohan made a stunning cameo appearance as the host of the math tournament. (SeatGeek sponsors the tournament, and even Lohan seems baffled by it.) She shows off her math skills from previous roles while asking tough questions, and Tina Fey reprises her role as Ms. Norbury, proudly and looked at it.

Lohan even paid homage to the past, saying the match "used to" only end in a draw, just like what happened in the original movie. However, the musical makes it clear that she's not meant to be an older Cady. When the film's Cady asks why she's not paying attention to limits in class, Lohan deftly retorts, "Honey, I don't know your life."

Audiences were relatively willing to keep Lohan's cameo a secret on social media. But some fans on X (formerly Twitter) couldn't help but voice their reactions amid spoiler warnings, with one user fittingly using a GIF of Oprah Winfrey screaming.

Many people reported that their theaters were "screaming" and "gasping", with one user saying they were "the first to yell 'WHAT THE FUCK?'" and another fan saying a smaller Details applause, saying "SeatGeek's sponge makes me giggle. "

One fan proudly stated that they would "never shut up about Lindsay Lohan's cameo in Mean Girls OMG," and in another post said, "The cameo was awesome very perfect".

Lohan keeps secrets

The cast and crew of "Mean Girls" are great at making Lohan's return a complete surprise. Ahead of the film's release, there were reports that none of the plastic characters from the original film, including Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried or Lacey Chabert, would appear - but that's not the case Because of lack of trying.

In interviews in November 2022, both Lohan and Seyfried expressed hesitation about taking part in the musical. "I heard it was a musical movie and I was like, 'Oh no.'" We couldn't do that. It has to be the same tone," she told Seyfried, who responded, "Yeah, just completely different. "

By February, they seemed to be on board with the idea, when Seyfried told Entertainment Tonight that all four Plastics were "100 percent" back. "I still hope for a miracle, but it's not entirely up to us, is it?" she said.

McAdams expressed the same sentiment to Bustle in April. However, that doesn't seem to be the case with OG's return. "Tina [Fey] and I tried a few ideas, but ultimately it was hard to pull them all off," she told Variety in December.

However, there are hints that Lohan will be returning to the North Shore in some capacity. First, she was one of the stars to play adult versions of her characters in a Black Friday- themed Walmart ad, along with Seyfried and Chabot. She then attended the red carpet premiere on January 8, posing with Fey and some new plastic. It's safe to say her return is... silly.
