Millennials would give up sex for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and let’s be honest, the same

Well, I’m going to start with “Not this Millennial!” which puts me in the smaller half, but real talk, a recent survey by Contiki found that more than half of Millennials would give up sex to Travel the world. That's 57% for you and me.

Who doesn't love a good game? Would you rather trade legs for arms or arms for legs? Would you rather eat ten large pizzas or never eat pizza again? Eating pizza, obviously, but when it comes to whether you'd rather travel or get laid, people are quick to choose celibacy over adventure and sex. The study asked 1,500 participants aged 18 to 35 if they would "give up about six months if it meant you could travel around the world for free", with 57 per cent saying yes.

Just imagine, if you had the opportunity to make this deal with the universe, would you take it? The universe is all around you, throwing super sexy tour guides, fellow travelers, bar staff, language teachers and more into your lap. Because we all know that's what the universe does when you get out of the market for one reason or another. Or, like people can feel it or something.

Wow, maybe it’s time to throw away all your contraceptives and hit the road? Disclaimer: This is a joke and I am not responsible for irresponsible sexual behavior.

This research was done by Contiki Tours. You probably know them as a travel service that caters to 18 to 35 year olds who are passionate about seeing the world, meeting new people, having good habits, and maybe getting laid. Yes, it seems like the latter is no longer as important as the former to potential travelers and men, and that's something not everyone is willing to give up.

Sex, it seems, isn't the only thing that gets put on the back burner due to travel-induced mind-expansion. Yes, folks, the plot is actually complicated. Of those 1,500 people, 80% also ditched Netflix within six months. Well, I guess it might lose it's glory when the "and cold" part is removed. And it’s also an easy thing to give up on, right? 73% of people don't give up drinking easily, I mean it seems to be a fairly common part of the social life of 18-35 year olds. Not that I'm an expert on anything. Just kidding, I like drinking.

77% of people will actually give up coffee for a few months because of headaches. While traveling. No coffee, but the possibility of visiting some of the coffee capitals of the world? What kind of fresh hell is this? Another 60% of people will happily give up carbs, which I guess means your waist will be ripped off when you get back, and not just because of travel-related gastrointestinal issues.

The most shocking of all the numbers is the lowest. See, sex, coffee, wine...the greatest pleasures in life. However, only 41% of people are willing to give up their mobile phones, which is an alarmingly low proportion. Ah yes, that means 16% of people would ditch sex for the trip of a lifetime instead of scrolling through Instagram.

I guess, as the old adage I always refer to goes, “If you do or go somewhere that’s super brightly lit and there’s no selfie evidence that it happened, did you really do it? "

Okay, to be fair, how much of your day do you spend looking at photos of other people's incredible lives and silently resenting them, while you sit at work eating a sad-looking salad at your desk? Because honestly, what’s a trip if you can’t be smug about it, am I right?

Okay, hold on a minute while I take a selfie next to this goat.
