Airbnb is selling the iconic 'Godfather' home

Marathon-watching your favorite movies is a form of self-care, but imagine being able to do it in the house where the movie is filmed. Thanks to Airbnb, this opportunity is about to become available to fans of The Godfather. The exterior of this Staten Island mansion is easily recognizable to those with a sharp eye who have seen the 1972 movie, and it will be available for pre-order starting July 27.

The home is still being used by the owners, but up to five guests will have private access to the mansion in August after booking via Airbnb. Long-term stays are for 30 days, from August 1 to August 31, giving guests access to all 6,248 square feet of space.

Movie buffs will recognize this home as the Corleone family's Long Island estate from the movie, although it's actually located on Staten Island. According to Forbes in 2016, the opening scene of "The Godfather" in which Vito Corleone, played by Marlon Brando, officiates at his daughter's wedding, was filmed here. Yes, before you ask, you'll hear the lines from that iconic scene "You came to my house...on my daughter's wedding day..." Research is part of the family.

Facilities at this hotel include a saltwater swimming pool, basement bar, gym and games room with pool table. There are five bedrooms throughout the house as well as additional living areas such as a backyard, living room and recently renovated kitchen. It's clear that the landlord wants the tenants to feel as at home as possible, and the chosen tenants will have access to all areas of the property in addition to the basement and attic closets.

If you're interested in staying in this iconic home for a month, be sure to set your alarm for Wednesday, July 27 at 1 PM ET, when reservations will be available. Currently, the price is listed at $50 per night, but it's unclear if that will change when booking.

This opportunity is just one way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Godfather , and you can learn more about staying at this historic home at airbnb.com/thegodfather. In the meantime, while you wait for July 27, you can brush up on your movie trivia by watching The Godfather on Amazon Prime or Paramount+.
