Summer is almost here, and if you're anything like me, that means you've officially entered the "I'm so crazy, I want to go anywhere for a change of scenery" phase of looking forward to summer. Sound familiar? great. Glad I'm not alone. As much as we might be dying to go anywhere right now, don't you think we should treat ourselves to a really cool vacation? We are worth it! With that in mind, I’m going to suggest a little-known travel destination you should visit this summer based on your zodiac sign.
Most of these locations are new to me, and I hope many of them are new to you, too, but resist the urge to scroll through and default to the resort you want to go to. All of these destinations look so incredible that I almost wish I could claim to be the destination for all the zodiac signs so I would have every reason to cross them off my list. If you're skeptical about the specific cities I recommend for you based on your zodiac sign, I still think you should keep an open mind. Half the fun of traveling is embracing the unexpected...imagine the stories you'll have to tell when you come back from a place so, so truly unexpected!
Aries
According to Lonely Planet , Goa, India, has it all — beaches, parties, culture, Portuguese culture, biking, waterfalls, and nature experiences — making it the perfect destination for energetic, impulsive Aries.
Taurus
If, like most Taurus, you find yourself drawn to beauty, romance, and pretty much anything that makes for a good photo, you might consider a trip to Luang Prabang, Laos . According to Esquire, this sleepy town is nestled in a valley at the confluence of two rivers and is filled with beautiful French architecture, temples, and luxury resorts.
Gemini
According to Lonely Planet , the Indonesian island of Lombok is adjacent to the famous island of Bali and is full of surfing, hiking, partying, fishing and more. Gemini, I think you should be able to find an adventure that interests you somewhere on this list, right? If you're still not convinced, let me assure you that it looks pretty , too.
cancer
You know less about Tasmania, Australia than you do about cities like Melbourne or Sydney, but that’s part of what makes this region so amazing! According to Esquire, Tasmania is "earning a reputation as the next cultural powerhouse," so book your trip soon and explore its rugged wilderness and delicious cuisine (especially in the capital, Hobart) before the secrets are revealed. Cancers who love water and good food, I have a feeling you'll dig it here.
Leo
A trip to Botswana, Africa is not for the faint of heart, but that shouldn't be a problem for you, Leo. Venture across the desert or go on a safari (or a few!). Esquire recommends an elegant wilderness camp for those who want a bit of luxury on their African vacation.
Virgo
I think I probably speak for my fellow Virgos when I say that while I could totally take a wonderful international vacation, I also can't help but wonder what amazing things I'm missing out on here in the U.S. An undiscovered gem! Palmetto Bluff, South Carolina seems to be one such gem. Palmetto Bluff offers beautiful nature walks, outdoor and water sports, authentic Southern cuisine and plenty of live music.
Libra
Bend, Oregon is famously a perfect destination for balanced Libras because of its emphasis on adventurous outdoor activities and cool downtown views. No matter the season, pick up an outdoor sport (skiing! Hiking! Paddleboarding!) and then unwind with a local beer at one of the city's local breweries or wineries, as Business Insider recommends.
Scorpio
You're a water sign, so why not go to a place filled with beautiful waterfalls (see what I did there?)? According to Lonely Planet, Croatia 's Plitvice Lakes National Park has 16 lakes connected to a series of waterfalls and cascades, not to mention butterflies and footbridges. No, this is not a fairy tale. After visiting the national parks, you can extend your trip and explore nearby cities in Croatia.
Sagittarius
Sagittarius, Ayson, and Patagonia should really appeal to your adventurous side. According to Esquire, the region has everything from snowy mountains to fjords to rainforests. You'll especially like it if you want to go off the grid for a few days.
Capricorn
Capricorns are known for being family-oriented and long-term planning, so I thought I'd go ahead and recommend a place that might be easier to turn into a group trip - but is still relatively low-key. How about Mackinac Island, Michigan? According to Business Insider, the entire island is a National Historic Landmark...and it's so quaint that you can only explore the main street of restaurants and fudge shops on foot!
aquarius
Aquarius, do yourself a favor and go to Hikkaduwa Beach in Sri Lanka. According to the Mirror, this is one of the most vibrant resort areas in the country and I think you’re going to love it. If that photo is any indication, how could you not?
Pisces
Slightly off the beaten track in Europe, check out Tallinn in Estonia. According to Lonely Planet, the capital is "vibrant yet peaceful, perfect for photography and filled with fantastic views." You can explore museums, ancient architecture, and delicious food all in one (affordable) place.
