The original MagSafe technology (a repurposed fryer mechanism introduced by Apple in 2006 on the MacBook Pro) brought a much-needed improvement to the way we charge our devices, greatly reducing the chance of tripping over the charging cord and launching your laptop Possibility to get to the other side of the room. Apple later abandoned MagSafe technology in favor of USB-C charging, but recently the technology has made a wider return, appearing not only in MacBook chargers but also in various iPhone accessories. Here are some of my favorites.
Upgrade your charger
Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe: Charging with tangled cords is long gone. The ends of Apple's white cable are twisted, broken, and constantly stained, making it feel inefficient to carry multiple items for one purpose. This efficient charger has enough space to magnetically charge all your small electronic devices at once, making it perfect for traveling, organizing your bedside, or safely powering three devices in a standard outlet using only one port.
Anker Magnetic Power Bank 10,000mAh : You don’t have to settle for Apple’s overpriced MagSafe batteries or the cheap knockoffs that burn up your phone. Anker is known for quality electronic chargers and batteries (they even make one for your whole home) that get the job done, and this one comes in a few fun colors.
suspended
Case-Mate Magnetic Phone Grip : This is a nice accessory that makes it easier to hold your phone with one hand, while still giving you the option to remove it and put your phone in your pants or purse pocket. Cons: The small slot only accommodates one finger, which is a bit inconvenient, but it's one of the few truly minimalist phone grips out there.
Hula+ MagSafe Portable Stand : Dare you roll in the shower? The Hula+ features a tile- and glass-compatible MagSafe mount that uses suction on one side and magnets on the other, which can help keep your phone stable in some dangerous places. This is a versatile option if you like to shoot movies, play games, or watch content while doing other activities.
Magnetic Gooseneck Phone Holder : A clamp-on phone and tablet holder really isn't that. They can slip, slide, squeeze, and the device can just fall off. Magnets are safer for these flexible mounts that require more anti-gravity action. Hands-free phone use is essential for both work and play, so you have more options for chip dipping, controller smashing, or even watching Netflix and knitting.
Anker Magnetic Phone Grip : Exercising with your phone can be excruciatingly painful. The armbands tend to slip off and the padded pockets may stretch or feel bulky on the legs. This is a versatile mount with double-sided magnets that form a ring that can be used as a stand or swivel. You can stick it to anything, wrap it around your stroller for safety, or thread your fingers through it to make texting with one hand easier.
Wallet upgrade
ESR Magnetic Wallet : Magnetic wallets have proven to be very useful, but they do more than just store your cards. An improvement on the much-loved original, this wallet also doubles as a phone holder.
Pelican Magnetic Wallet : Since it's waterproof, you can use this wallet to protect your cards and cash from the elements even without your phone. Although it is a little more expensive than a regular mobile wallet, it has a hard-shell design and has more space than other mobile wallets.
Converting non-MagSafe cases
ESR HaloLock Universal Conversion Kit : Many cases work with MagSafe right out of the box, but not all. If you prefer a non-magnetic case, use stickers to convert it and make it MagSafe compatible.
