Driver Talent v8.1.11.46 Review

Driver Talent (formerly DriveTheLife) is a free driver update tool that finds outdated, corrupted and missing device drivers on your computer. This means you don't have to manually search for them online. The program is neat and supports a variety of features, all of which you'd expect from a program like this.

It's a very powerful program and I've used it successfully to update drivers on my computer and friends' computers, but there are a few things I don't like about it.

what we like
  • Very easy to use.

  • Installation is very fast.

  • Download drivers directly through the program.

  • Download speed is fast.

  • Automatically back up drivers before updating and uninstalling.

  • Create a restore point before each installation.

what we don't like
  • Unable to modify automatic scan schedule.

  • Each driver must be downloaded one at a time (batch downloads are not possible).

  • Installation is not automatic.

  • Purchasing the pro version requires several plugs.

  • Recognized as malware by some antivirus programs.

  • The network printer driver cannot be found.

Driver Talent is a feature-rich driver updater that even lets you reinstall drivers that haven't been updated, which is really helpful if you're trying to solve driver problems.

Here are some other facts I'd like to mention:

  • Find drivers for Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows Server
  • You can view the version number, file size and release date of updated drivers to ensure you are getting genuine updates
  • Before updating a driver, if you want to install a specific version of the driver instead of the most recently released version, you can select a version that is different from the latest version
  • Driver Talent can reinstall any installed driver, even if it doesn't need to be updated
  • Misbehaving peripherals can be corrected through the Peripheral Drivers tab
  • Use Driver Talent for Network Card to install an offline version of a program that contains network drivers. This is useful if you do not have the network drivers installed that are required for updates.
  • You can adjust the maximum download speed to save bandwidth

This review is for Driver Talent version If there is a new version that we need to review, please let us know.

First of all, Driver Talent looks really good. The interface is simple and clean, without those annoying banner ads or extra, distracting menus. In my experience, this is easier to use than some similar programs.

driver status The tab tells you which device drivers need updating and which ones have been detected but are already up to date. This is a great feature because you can very clearly see the version of the new driver and its file size, and the download button is right there, making it all very easy to understand.

While my first recommendation is Driver Booster, I do like Driver Talent and would be more than happy to recommend you use it to find the right driver for your own device. I say this even though it doesn't support bulk downloads or automatic installation like some driver updater tools. Although you have to start the scan manually, it's better than searching for and downloading them yourself.

Check out the free download link below and see how the free option compares to the pro option. There are a lot of features you won't get in this free software, but I do think it's still a good choice for most people.
