With the popularity of smart speakers like Amazon Echo and Google Home, there are more Bluetooth devices in homes than ever before. To stream audio to multiple speakers, use apps like AmpMe, Bose Connect, or some from Ultimate Ears, as well as Bluetooth 5, which can send audio to two devices simultaneously.
The instructions in this article are for Bluetooth speakers connected to Android, Amazon Echo, or Google Home devices.
There are apps for connecting multiple Bluetooth devices, including AmpMe, Bose Connect, and Ultimate Ears. AmpMe is the most versatile because it's not brand-specific, while the Bose and Ultimate Ears apps require Bluetooth speakers from their respective companies.
AmpMe syncs smartphones and Bluetooth speakers to stream audio from SoundCloud, YouTube or your media library. Users can create or join parties on any of these platforms and sync with unlimited devices. (Visit AmpMe's website to learn more about the app's features.)
Your smartphone can only connect to one speaker, so you'll need the input of friends and family to make it work.
The person who creates the party controls the music, but other users can send song requests using the app's chat feature. Hosts can also turn on the Guest as DJ feature so other participants can add songs to the queue.
After downloading the app, link it to your Facebook or Google account and see if your contacts are on AmpMe, or turn on location services and find meetups near you.
Start the party:
Click + (plus sign).
Select a service and click Connect
Log in to your account.
Select or create a playlist.
Invite people who can join remotely to your party, or invite them over.
With the Bose Connect and Ultimate Ears apps, you can pair your smartphone with multiple speakers, but only on select models.
- Bose Connect: This app works with Bose speakers and headphones, and the Party Mode feature streams audio to two headphones or two speakers simultaneously. Download Bose Connect for iOS or get the Bose Connect app for Android; compatible devices are listed on the app page.
- Ultimate Ears : The Ultimate Ears Boom app has a feature called PartyUp that can connect and stream music to more than 150 speakers (except Wonderboom, Blast and Megablast models).
If you have a Samsung Galaxy S8, S+, or newer model, take advantage of the company's Bluetooth Dual Audio feature, which works with most Bluetooth speakers and headphones; Bluetooth 5 is not required.
To enable this feature:
Go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth .
These steps are for Samsung devices running Android 8 and above. Depending on your version, the settings options layout may look slightly different.
Click Advanced .
In earlier versions of Android, tap the three-dot menu in the upper right corner.
Turn on the dual audio switch.
To use dual audio, pair your phone with two speakers, two headphones, or one of each, and audio will stream to both speakers simultaneously.
If you add a third speaker, the first paired device will start.
If you connect your Samsung to two sets of headphones, only the first connected device can use the headphone media controls to manage playback. You may also encounter Bluetooth speakers that are out of sync, so this feature works best with speakers in separate rooms.
Apple has a similar feature to Samsung's Dual Audio called HomePod Stereo Pairing, which allows users to pair an iPhone or Mac with two HomePod speakers.
When you set up a HomePod in the same room as another HomePod, you can choose to use the speakers as a stereo pair. You can also set up this feature on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac using the Home app. In either case, both HomePods must be in the same room to pair. Here's how to do it.
To set up HomePod stereo pairing, you need an iPhone running at least iOS 11.4 or a Mac running macOS Mojave or later. You'll also need a HomePod speaker running iOS 11.4 or later.
Open the Home app > tap HomePod > Settings .
Click or tap to create a stereo pair .
Select the second HomePod.
You'll see two HomePod icons in the app. Tap or click the HomePod to map it to the correct channel (right and left).
Click or tap Back , then tap Done .
Yes, with the help of third-party applications. Visit the App Store and search for apps that connect iPhone to various Bluetooth devices; read reviews and choose a quality product that suits you. Another option is to use AirPlay-enabled speakers.
You'll use the Google Home app to connect your Google Home to your Bluetooth speaker. Select your device > Settings > Audio > Default Music Speaker . Pair your Bluetooth speaker, follow the prompts, and enjoy the sound.
To make Bluetooth sound from multiple speakers louder and clearer, consider using a software amplification app or try a speaker boosting app. Also, try moving the connected speakers away from obstructions in the room.
