This article explains what you need and how to officially download videos from the Peacock app (if allowed). After downloading some content, you can watch it offline.
As long as you have a Premium Plus account and a compatible smartphone or tablet, the download process is fairly simple.
Open the Peacock app on your smartphone or tablet and navigate to the movie or TV show you want to save for later.
If this is a downloadable movie, you'll see a "Download" option below the title (or "Download with Premium Plus " if you're not a Premium Plus member).
If it's a TV series, scroll down to the episode list and find the "Download" (or "Download with Premium Plus ") option in the upper right corner of the screen.
Click the download button to start downloading the video.
If you see "Download with Premium Plus," the download feature won't work unless you upgrade your subscription.
When you're ready to start watching one of your downloaded videos offline:
Open the Peacock app and it should automatically jump to the Downloads section when it detects that your device is not connected to the internet.
If the app does not automatically switch to "Download" or you want to watch the downloaded video online, tap the "Download" icon in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. It's the second icon from the right and looks like a downward arrow pointing to a straight horizontal line.
Select the video you want to watch and start watching. If you downloaded a TV series, select the episode first, then select the episode you want to watch.
Because of the way the Peacock app stores downloaded videos, you can't transfer them to another device (such as your computer) to watch. You can only watch downloaded Peacock videos through the app on your smartphone or tablet.
You have options when you've finished watching your download or decide you no longer want to save it. You can wait for the download to be automatically deleted (30 days if not viewed, 48 hours if viewed), log out or delete the app, or delete the download manually.
Open the Peacock app and navigate to the Downloads menu. It's the second icon from the right in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen (the arrow pointing downward toward the horizontal line).
Find and select the downloaded video you want to delete.
On the information page, find and click the "Downloaded" option (located below the movie title or at the top of the TV show episode list).
When the option to delete selected content appears, click on the "Delete Downloads" option.
Like most other streaming services, you need to sign up for Peacock to watch any content on it. That being said, access to the download feature requires a Premium Plus account (the more expensive, ad-free option).
You'll also need to use the official app on a compatible smartphone or tablet. Hardware specifications aren't that important other than whether it can run the necessary operating system. Peacock says the download requires a device running Android 6.0 and above or iOS (or iPadOS) 14 and above.
Not all videos in the Peacock library are available for download, and some videos only allow you to download a total of 10 times (attempts above the 11th time will be blocked).
Additionally, an account is limited to 25 downloads at a time across all connected devices (also limited by device storage), so you may need to delete videos before you can save new ones.
Once you start watching a video, you have 48 hours to finish watching it before the downloaded video is automatically deleted. Otherwise, unwatched downloads will be retained for 30 days. Signing out of your account within the app or deleting it entirely will also delete all stored downloads.
