Best Buy Drops is Best Buy's in-app feature that lets you take advantage of deep discounts that are only valid for a limited time, or until stocks last (most deals don't last past 5 p.m.).
Today, Best Buy Drops a three-pack of the TP-Link Tapo 2K indoor/outdoor cameras for $149.99 (regularly $299), which is the cheapest price I've seen after checking in a price comparison tool. (For reference, that same camera dropped to $199.99 in March.)
NOTE: You'll need to download the app on your phone and click the link above to be redirected to the app to see the correct price; otherwise, you'll be taken to the Best Buy website where the price is still $299.99.
TP-Link Tapo 3-pack 2K indoor/outdoor cameras 10000mAh battery (up to 300 days of power) and magnetic baseYou need the app to get this offer
Tapo security cameras will be available to all shoppers with the Best Buy app starting Thursday, April 4 at 11 a.m. ET. As I explained in this article about Best Buy's Drops program , you need to create an account and navigate to the "Drops" tab to view Tapo security cameras. Once you see the offer, click the "Add to Cart" button and you'll be put in line for your chance to purchase. Depending on the popularity of the product, waiting in line can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. These Drop offers are exclusive to the app, so don't expect them to appear on the website or store.
These cameras do not require a subscription
While most features of TP-Link cameras don't require a subscription, they do offer three cameras starting at $10.49 per month if you want to get snapshot previews and certain notifications. These cameras are battery powered and can last up to 300 days without replacement (depending on usage). They record in 2K at 2560 x 1440 resolution with a choice of cloud or local storage, include color night vision, two-way audio, siren alerts, can be used indoors or outdoors, are weatherproof IP-66 rated, and have a 150-degree Extra wide field of view. They're also compatible with Google Home and Alexa.
