This article explains how to use remote access to link your Samsung Smart TV (2019 and newer models) to your computer. These instructions are for Windows 11 and Windows 10 users.
Samsung's Remote Access feature lets you wirelessly connect a Windows PC or laptop to your selected Samsung Smart TV, even if the PC is in another room. By connecting your keyboard and mouse to your TV (either wired or via Bluetooth), you can access files, use desktop browsers, play games, and more. How to do:
Turn on your TV and make sure it's connected to your Wi-Fi network.
Launch the Smart Hub by pressing the "Home" button on the remote.
A series of input, content, etc. icons will appear. At the bottom, you'll see various settings in separate columns. Use your remote to navigate to the bottom bar, scroll and select Source .
Above the bottom bar, you'll see a series of icons showing your TV's inputs. Select Remote Access .
Select the remote computer .
You will see a large window labeled Connect to Remote PC . You'll be asked to enter your computer's credentials. To create a new PC profile, select the User icon located to the right of the PC/Profile box to launch the User Profile window.
Select Add to create a new profile.
Find your IP address in Windows. You are looking for the local IPv4 address, which can be found in Settings > Network & Internet > Properties .
Enable remote access on your computer. The fastest way to do this in Windows 11 is to search for it from the taskbar: type Remote Desktop Settings , press Enter , and open Remote Desktop .
That's how it should already be, but while you're on this screen, make sure the "Network Level Authentication" checkbox is filled out.
Return to the TV and make sure you are in the User Profile window. Use the connected keyboard to enter the PC's IP address in the appropriate box.
Enter the username you use to log into your PC. Then, use your remote control to select Save .
You will see your new profile listed in the User Profiles window. Select Close to exit.
Return to the "Connect to Remote PC" window and you will see your newly created profile listed next to "PC/Profiles" . Select a profile name and this will automatically populate the username box.
Next, select the Password box and enter the password you use to log into your PC.
If necessary, you can change your Windows password.
Select "Connect" below the form to initiate the connection.
You may see a pop-up notification warning that the remote computer's identity cannot be verified. If you want to continue, select Yes .
After a few moments, you will see your PC's desktop on your TV. You can use your computer as usual using a keyboard and mouse connected to your TV.
When you are ready to close the remote session, select Home on the remote control, and then select Disconnect .
You can also connect your Samsung mobile device to your TV using mirroring, casting and the Samsung Smart View app. Check the device software or user manual to see if your device supports these features.
