After three successful hometown dates with Leslie Fhima, Faith Martin and Theresa Nist, Gerry Turner is 11 The May 2 episode of "Bachelor" ended with an emotional moment: "Nearly dying," he explained, because he was afraid of sending one of his key connections away. "I know what I want to do. I just don't want to do it."
Next week's trailer promises to reveal who Gerry sends home. However, his journey to The Golden Bachelor is far from over. In fact, viewers will have to wait a few more weeks to see the conclusion of this season's emotional love story - well, story.
Part of the reason is that the debut season of "Bachelor" will end up being one episode longer than planned. ABC executive Rob Mills previously told Variety that the show will air for eight episodes — "a very special eight weeks," in his words. However, when Gerry's season ends, viewers will have been treated to nine episodes. (It appears that Mills may not have had Women Tell All in mind when announcing the initial number of episodes.)
Here’s everything you need to know about the Bachelor finale date and what’s to come in the next few weeks on the show (spoiler alert: double-length episodes are coming soon).
Golden bachelor's holiday
The Bachelor has been breaking series ratings records, so why would ABC want to skip a week and potentially take the wind out of its sails? It’s simple: a little holiday called Thanksgiving.
ABC just shared a new schedule, announcing that Women Tell All and Fantasy Suite episodes will air on November 9 and November 16, respectively. The show will then air its finale on November 30, after Thanksgiving, instead of airing an episode on November 23.
make up for lost time
While it's hard to wait another week to find out who Gerry picks, ABC does seem to be making up for lost time in one key way: The Bachelorette finale will last two hours, making it twice as long as the rest of the season set.
Live happily ever after?
Can't wait to see November 30th come and see how Gerry's journey will end? identical! Luckily, the King himself has dropped some hints as to where things are headed — and they're promising.
"I'm really happy with how this season is going," he recently shared on The View . "There's excitement, there's fun, there's great dates, there's a lot of adventure." What about the ending? Gerry hinted that if it had ended badly , "I wouldn't be sitting here with a big smile on my face."
Want to be more specific? OK! Spoilers ahead.
Bachelor Nation's resident leak purveyor, Reality Steve, has some intel. He previously reported that Faith was eliminated before Fantasy Suites. However, as of November 2, he hasn't revealed whether Theresa or Leslie got Gerry's final rose — only that the two women met with his family in Costa Rica during the finale.
