If you've seen an episode of Even Stevens , then you'll remember that the main antagonist in each episode was either Louis Stevens (if it was a Ren-centric episode) or Ren Stevens (if it was a Louis-centric episode). Sure, sometimes they run into trouble with Ren's rival Larry Beale or Louis' nemesis Principal Wexler, but mostly you're stuck with the eternal brooding rivalry between nervous Ren and immature Louis Pick a side. However, even though Shia LaBeouf hasn't kept in touch with his Evan Stevens costar since the show ended, that doesn't necessarily mean he and Kristy Carlson Romano hate each other off camera, right? Bar? After all, even when Rennes and Louis were fighting each other, they always had each other's backs. Surely, the same could be said for Romano and LaBeouf?
Don't worry, my friends. Romano and LaBeouf's relationship seems to be much more peaceful off-screen than it is on-screen. In fact, in 2008, a full five years after the show ended, Romano spoke fondly of LaBeouf in an interview with People magazine. "He's been through a lot, he's had a hard life and he's grown up with some scars. But he's a fighter," Romano said. "I support him."
At the time, she was referring to LaBeouf's DUI arrest — which wouldn't be the end of his legal troubles — but Romano later revealed that the actor "jokingly calls her 'sister.'" The cutest thing I've ever heard.
But that's not the end of Romano's support for LaBeouf. Six years later, in 2014, she gave another interview, this time to Entertainment Weekly , in which she defended LaBeouf's latest round of controversy. Entertainment Weekly reached out to Romano when the actor apologized for the plagiarism scandal in early 2014, and Romano refused to be one of the many to criticize LaBeouf: "He always respected his artistic instincts, even when he was 12 It was the same thing around 15 or 16 years old, so it was him trying out his artistic instincts, it wasn't just some breakdown, it wasn't something he was actively doing."
In fact, Romano was even hilariously asked to look at the situation from Evan Stevens' perspective. What would Ren think of Louis if he were doing the things LaBeouf is known for doing in his personal life? "Ren would actually say to people who were criticizing her brother, which is almost a direct quote from the show, 'I can call my brother stupid, but no one else can.' She would be more defensive, but then she would call him Pulled aside and said, "You-" I don't even know what she would say to him, after all these years, but I know that if anyone was going to call him a jerk, it would be her. "guys. my feeling. my feeling.
What does LaBeouf think of Romano? This is not well documented. It's been a while since LaBeouf talked about or had a conversation with his Even Stevens co-stars, and for all intents and purposes, LaBeouf seems to be completely out of touch with his Disney days. However, I see no reason for Romano to lie because, in her words, LaBeouf "always thought of me as his big sister." Of course, the two no longer keep in touch, but it's nice that their bond was so strong that she still looks at him fondly now. We don't need LaBeouf's interview evidence to prove that he feels the same way; the way Romano talks about him speaks to positive, intimate experiences she had with her former costar. That’s right, the Stevens siblings. good.
