I tried this pickle hard seltzer and it might become my new personality trait

Admittedly, I am a Pickle Girl™️. Last summer, the popular pickle martini became my drink of choice, so I started experimenting with pickling anything and turning it into a cocktail—green beans, blackberries, and peaches, to name a few. But nothing comes close to real cucumber pickles, so when I heard that soda company Two Robbers was partnering with Grillo's Pickles to create a pickle-flavored hard seltzer, I was intrigued. Myself, I can confirm that this may be a game changer for the kimchi lovers in me. Here's everything you need to know about this unexpected collaboration.

First, I feel the need to explain that I am a, um, divided eater. I love nasty little mouse snacks, I eat oysters with ease, and I enjoy the occasional stinky cheese. If someone has said something is "disgusting" before, I might want to eat it. Also, I'm a salty drink lover, and when Two Bandits posted a photo of a pickle drink on their Instagram on May 31, about five different people immediately DMed me about it. What I'm trying to say is this: I'm exactly the type of person who loves this drink.

Where can I buy pickle hard seltzer?

The limited-time offer will be available throughout the Northeast at stores including Acme, Giant, Whole Foods, Wegmans, Weis and select independent retailers, starting at $11.99. To make the 5.2% alcohol-by-volume viral drink, more than 20 gallons of Grillo dill pickle brine are used in each batch to achieve a tart and fizzy final product. Iconic.

What does pickle hard seltzer taste like?

To be honest, it tastes exactly like you imagined. If you've ever had Grillo dill pickles, the familiar brine flavor really sticks out. Rather than an artificial, bright green brine flavor, it has an understated vinegar, sweetness, and garlic flavor that makes each bite more enjoyable than the last without any unwelcome aftertaste. The sparkling water is pleasantly bubbly without being too fizzy, making it perfect for drinking, and the drink itself isn't a suspiciously cloudy hue at all - like most hard seltzers, it's clear with a hint of color. I definitely recommend drinking sparkling water straight from the refrigerator or over ice, because just like you probably don't want to eat room temperature pickles (cold pickles have that extra satisfying crunch), drinking the drink cold preserves the flavor Extra refreshing.

What can you use pickle hard seltzer for?

Pickle hard seltzer tastes great on its own, don't get me wrong, but it also has a flavor that makes it a great starting point for other drinks. I've seen TikTokers make extra delicious Bloody Marys using Old Bay Vodka and Pickle Beer, and I bet swapping out the beer for these sodas would make for a fantastic brunch. As a seasoned pickle martini drinker, I'd even guess that making a pickle soda gin and tonic would also be great - with a dill spear or pickle as a garnish, of course.

Too long; Two Bandits’ pickle hard seltzer collaboration with Grillo might just be my new personality trait. Or, at least, it's destined to become an unexpected ingredient on my bar cart that I'm looking forward to trying.
