I tried the Starbucks 2023 summer menu before anyone else and these are my thoughts

The calendar may still say spring is a few weeks away, but summer seems to be in full swing at Starbucks. The coffee giant announced its 2023 summer menu on May 9, which includes two (yes, two ) new cold coffee beverages to kick off the warm season. But before you swap out your go-to summer beverage for something new, you might be wondering if these drinks can help you beat the heat of the season. I previewed Starbucks' new seasonal merchandise, and here's what you can expect from the summer goodies.

Inspired by campfire, beach, and grilling seasons, the series adds four new items to the menu just as the temperatures drop: White Chocolate Macadamia Butter Cold Brew, Chocolate Java Mint Frappuccino, Green Apron Mix, and Bumblebee Cake pop. White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cream Cold Brew Coffee is made with Starbucks' signature cold brew coffee blended with macadamia nut syrup, topped with White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cream Cold Foam and sprinkled with toasted cookie crumbs to give this drink a real touch of class. orchid value”. The Chocolate Java Mint Frappuccino blends Starbucks' Frappuccino Roasted Coffee with chocolate and mint flavors for an extra-smooth texture, with Frappuccino chips and chocolate chip cookie mint sprinkles for added texture.

The Green Apron Blend is a new golden roast with flavors of honeybell orange and graham cracker, while the Bumblebee Cake Pop features vanilla cake dipped in yellow frosting and decorated like an adorable bee. Cold coffee and cake pops will be available in stores for a limited time starting on May 9, while Green Apron Blend can be ordered as a daily hot brew throughout the summer or in packaged coffee form year-round.

Starbucks' new seasonal menu for summer 2023 includes two new cold coffee beverages.

If you're an iced coffee lover, or just don't want to stray from your regular order, you might be hesitant to add a new drink to your morning coffee rotation. Luckily, this review details everything you need to know about the seasonal menu items so you can choose the drink that's right for you.

Starbucks White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cream Cold Brew Coffee Review

As if the drink's creamy foam and cookie crumb toppings weren't tempting enough on their own, the cold brew's sweet vanilla aroma makes you want to dive right in. Between the subtle nuttiness of the coffee and the extra sweetness, the macadamia drink does not disappoint.

The cold brew is not too strong, which allows the cold foam and macadamia nut syrup to really shine. The White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cream Cold Foam and Macadamia Nut Syrup taste exactly like the cookies they're named after, but the flavor doesn't leave you with a strong sugary taste either. Not only is it the perfect blend of sweet and savory, it's also the perfect combination of smooth and crunchy, as the cookie crumbs provide just the right contrast to the silky texture.

Starbucks Chocolate Java Mint Frappuccino Review

Despite the variety of flavors and eye-catching toppings, I was surprised that this drink didn't have much of a smell. That's not a bad sign for things to come, though, as the drink is just as sweet as its name suggests.

The mix of mint and chocolate flavors tastes like eating a scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream after a long day at the beach, and the Frappuccino has just the right blend to not be too harsh, but not too milky either. Between the thickness of the drink, the crunchiness of the toppings, and the creaminess of the whipped cream, there are a lot of different delicious textures at play.

The only thing I didn't like about this bev was that I could barely taste the coffee. And because it's so sweet with almost nothing to compare it to, it's easy to forget you're drinking a Frappuccino and not a straight shake. But for those who don't like the taste of coffee, this may be the main attraction.

Starbucks Green Apron Mix Review

Considering it's made with graham cracker flavor, it's no surprise that the new concoction tastes like a perfectly toasted s'more. The golden roast aftertaste wasn't overly welcoming either, which is always a plus for me. Its summery flavor is surprisingly refreshing, so if you're someone who loves hot coffee year-round, this is definitely a good option to keep in mind.
