The new blackcurrant product is described as having a "berry-cool" flavor that is both rich and "mysterious". They have a layer of cassis in the center, surrounded by crunchy dark chocolate and a light sponge base.
These new biscuits/cakes join the OG orange-flavored Jaffas, as well as updated flavors of "Saucy Pineapple, Cheeky Cherry and Party Passion Fruit."
Speaking about the new desserts, Emma Stowers, brand director at McVitie’s, explained: “The rich berry flavor of our new Jaffa Cake Blackcurrant flavor is the perfect addition to the Jaffa Cake team. We’re delighted to be able to Continuing to bring new flavors and experiences to Jaffanatics and can’t wait for everyone to try this new fruity, cool berry flavor. They’re so delicious, your sharing box may not last long!”
If you can't wait to get your hands on the blackcurrant supplement, there's good news: You can get it soon. The Blackcurrant Jaffa Cake will be available from 25 April, exclusively in Tesco. The sharing box contains 10 cakes and retails for £1.20 each.
