Why wait in line for the latest Stanley water bottle when there are other water bottles that not only keep your drinks cold but also keep track of how much water you drink in a day?
After all, staying hydrated is one of the most important things you can do for your overall health. The problem is, even if you buy the world's cutest water bottle, there's no guarantee you'll drink enough water. Before you know it, it's 8pm and all you need to get through the day is a Diet Coke and a cold brew.
This is 100% me, by the way. I would fill up my Nalgene, keep it close by, and still not drink the recommended amount of fluids, which is about 11.5 cups or 2.7 liters of fluid per day. It’s easy to forget to drink water, and it’s even easier to get bored mid-drink.
That's why I'm so interested in the idea of a smart water bottle that can connect to an app, remind me to drink water, and track how much I drink. Read on below for my honest review of the WaterH Smart Water Bottle.

Knowledge about WaterH water bottles
At first glance, the WaterH looks like a regular water bottle. It's cup holder compatible, features double-walled stainless steel to keep your drinks cool, and has a matte finish that comes in white and two beautiful shades of blue. There are also BPA-free straws and ring holders for you to take with you.
Beyond that, things get pretty technical. The WaterH charges in the base and connects to the app via Bluetooth, allowing you to track your water intake. There's also a smart AI sensor inside the bottle that detects when you're drinking, then syncs to the app so you can see how much you've drank throughout the day. This allows you to track your fluids as well as your drinking habits so you can learn more about yourself.
The app lets you choose how much water you want to drink each day so you can set goals that fit your lifestyle. Once you program your bottle in the app, you'll get hydration reminders on your phone or smartwatch. When you need to drink water, the LED light at the bottom of the water bottle will also glow.
The bottle also has a built-in sensor that measures all the microscopic Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in the water so you always know what you're drinking, whether you're drinking from the refrigerator, sink, fountain, or whatever you have What. If you'd like, you can also add a filter straw (for an additional $19.99) to clean your water on the go.
my experience
Although WaterH is not as cute as the pink Stanley, nor as nostalgic as the cyan Nalgene, I appreciate that it has its own fashionable appearance. What I appreciate more, though, is how easy it is to set up.
All I had to do was download the app and enter some information like my age, height, and weekly activity level so the app could figure out how much water I needed to drink each day. For me, it's 74 fluid ounces.
The app then prompted me to set an alarm, so I went ahead and programmed a reminder to pop up every hour. From there, all I have to do is fill up my water bottle, put it on my desk, and go about my day. (Thankfully, the TDS levels in the water in my sink aren’t too bad. Phew.)
Every hour, I'd see an alert pop up, and just like that, I'd reach in and take a sip. The glow of the bottle frees me from several highly focused work modes that would normally prevent me from hydrating. I mean, would you overlook a cute glowing water bottle? I think not.
Over the course of a week, I took WaterH with me to coffee shops, the gym, friends’ houses, and more. I found myself drinking regular. The app has a little graphic that fills up as you drink throughout the day, and reaching your goals feels very satisfying.
judgment
If your water bottle is more of a desk decoration than an actual drinking vessel, consider investing in a smart version.
WaterH sends convenient reminders to motivate you to keep drinking, and it's helpful to see your drinking data in real time. If you're grossed out by sediment in your water, you'll also want to test your water.
After a week of use, I can already tell I'm a lot more hydrated than usual. It’s also fun to gamify my water drinking goals by watching how much water I drink. If you're perpetually thirsty, or you could use a little technical push, I highly recommend giving this bottle a try.
