Even though the Met Gala isn't actually an awards show, Emily Ratajkowski has several awards shows under her belt. She was both the most naked person on the red carpet (for the second time, she was the most naked person at the event) and the most stylish -- two impressive feats.
For Carnival 2024, the model wore a shimmering sheer dress that made her look like a fairy princess come to life. Among the many similarly ethereal styles, her style stands out for one main reason: it's such a stunning nude.
Emily's Sparkling Archives Dress
On the first Monday in May, fashion's biggest night, Ratajkowski touched on two themes with a barely there number. The floral-patterned beading on her gown reflected the event's "Garden of Time" dress code and echoed the rest of the floral-clad harem. She also used archival numbers from the Versace Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2001 collection to convey the official theme of the show, "Sleeping Beauty: Reawakening Fashion."
The floor-length number was covered in intricate beading and a floral print. On its torso and long sleeves, the embroidery is a tighter stream of droplet-like swirls. However, once it reaches her hips, the beads bloom into the shapes of flowers and leaves, leaving more of the mesh fabric covered.
Although the gown has been around for decades, it was likely a custom-made piece for the My Body author in 2024.
The nude dress is a fashion favorite and a must-have for Ratajkowski on the red carpet. In fact, the look—from the beadwork to the exposed nipple feel—harkened back to her look at the 2019 Met Gala, when she wore a crisscross top with a huge diamond midriff to the camp-themed party Halterneck dress. cut out.
She leans toward a "more is more" philosophy when it comes to her frosting, accessorizing with jewelry including tennis bracelets and dazzling rings by Chopard and Briony Raymond. Even her Rene Caovilla sandals were embellished with chandelier crystals.
Her earrings, however, were pepper-shaped, a cheeky nod to the garden theme. Only the most fashionable will go the vegetal style route. (See: Zendaya's look, topped with grapes.)
back moment
Ratajkoski has done quite a few nude looks at the Met Gala, but this is her most nude look yet, ranking at the top of the list. Aside from the massive open back, the rest of the fabric-covered look is stunningly see-through, revealing any and all rear slits.
her braids
She had her hair braided with a three-prong fan and kept her makeup minimal, letting the look take center stage.
Pure perfection indeed.
