Please don't panic, stay calm and don't try to leave the dance floor - Beyoncé's 2023 Renaissance World Tour has begun. On May 10, members of the Beyhive traveled to Stockholm, Sweden, to witness the opening night of her first tour in five years. This marks the first time the 32-time Grammy winner has performed songs from her seventh studio album Renaissance , which to date has not received any music videos or live performances.
Since her last tour in 2018, Beyoncé has released the critically acclaimed Renaissance album , her first solo effort in seven years, but it's not the only new music she's given fans. In 2019, she released The Lion King: The Gift , a soundtrack inspired by Disney's live-action film in which she played Nana, followed a year later by the release of the companion film Black Is King . Creating a Renaissance Tour setlist is always a challenge with so many new songs to match her old hits, but Beyoncé pulled off a 35-song performance that lasted nearly three hours.
Beyoncé performed the entire Renaissance number in sequence, including the Grammy-winning hits "Break My Soul" and "Cuff It," mixing in classic tracks from all of her six previous albums throughout. But that’s not how the show started. Instead, Bey kicked off the tour with a series of surprising ballads, starting with 2003's soulful "Dangerously In Love 2" and concluding with two songs from 2011's Album 4 . If the rough draft of the setlist in the tour book is any indication, she'll likely rotate the songs into each night's opening act.
After months of creating a dream setlist and imagining the camp visuals she could create, fans finally know what Beyoncé will perform on her long-awaited world tour.
Here’s the set list for Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour.
