There are spoilers for the Good Girls season 4 premiere . The good girls are back and the tables may finally be turning in the girls' favor.
In the show's third season, Beth, Ruby and Annie work to free their criminal enterprises from Leo's control. Beth is especially at risk of being framed for murder because Leo tricked her into leaving his fingerprints on the gun used to kill Lucy. In Season 4, Beth is on edge and understandably struggles to gain some power in the situation. But at the end of the Season 4 premiere, "One Night in Bangkok," she gets her answer: a counterfeit bill with Leo's fingerprints on it.
While this wasn't the first time Beth had taken control of Rio, the fingerprints were enough to stop him from handing the gun over to the police. This threat of mutually assured destruction may eventually bring them on the same side, forming an alliance against other threats. Showrunner Jenna Bans said that was her goal at the end of season three before production was halted due to the coronavirus.
"The last five episodes (of Season 3) are really going to take us in a new direction," Bance told Entertainment Weekly last May . "We will and still will at the beginning of Season 4, have them engage in confrontational content. Arms aside, having to reluctantly work together in a way that they've never done before." "
Of course, Leo and Beth's relationship has had its fair share of ups and downs, and everything in between - including the eternal sexual tension between them. The two haven't slept together since Beth shot Rio three times in season two. But many fans still hope they can reignite things, and the cast and crew confirmed there will always be some feeling.
"There's a huge cat-and-mouse game between Rio and Beth, and I think it's a really great TV show because they're both pitted against each other," Manny Montana, who plays Rio, begins the show Formerly told The Neil Haley Show. Season three premiered last year. "It's weird because opposites attract. So they don't like each other but they love each other at the same time, so it creates a very complicated relationship."
Bans said that as Beth and Leo are finally forced to truly work as a team, their bond may draw them together again. "The chemistry can't be killed, so it brings about all these good things that work so close together," Bans said. "You don't go from having the sexiest sex of your life to wanting something. One dies without conflicting feelings.”
