Isadóra Bjarkardóttir Barney has released her first solo song titled "bergmál," but this isn't the singer's first foray into music. She is also a co-writer of songs by a very famous musician with whom she has a close relationship. Yes, this rising star is the daughter of music icon Björk. Barney's new song appears on the new album DRULLUMALL 4 by Icelandic grassroots group postdreifing. The group shared the news on Instagram, writing: "4 amazing tracks from different corners of the scene have finally surfaced." But who exactly is Isadora Biacadotti Bani?
Barney was born in London on October 3, 2002, the daughter of Björk and American artist Matthew Barney. The two are no longer together after splitting in 2013, but Björk continued to talk about their relationship on her 2015 album Vulnicura . "It was the most painful thing I've ever experienced in my life. The only way I could fix it was to start writing for strings," she told NME . In a recent interview with The Face , Barney also talked about her parents' separation and how she sought therapy. “It’s a great tool and I’m a huge fan of it. There have definitely been moments in my life where I needed it more than others, like [my parents’] separation.”
Barney also collaborated with her mother on Björk's song "Her Mother's House" for family reasons. In a sentimental song, Barney and her mother sing about the complex emotions of leaving the nest. Speaking about the children on her album Fossora, Björk told NME , "I really love that, but somehow it feels weird not to include them on the album."

Barney is not only a musician but also an actor. Known as Doa Barney for her role, she stars in the 2022 film alongside Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skarsgård, Anya Taylor-Joy and her own mother The movie "Northerners" . However, Barney doesn't have any scenes with her mom in the movie, but they still find ways to support each other. "I held her hand during one of her scenes. She was in my big scene and we supported each other through it. It was a long, long scene! She was the champ."
