Katy Perry's social media activity features "KatyCats" purring. On November 7, Perry changed her profile picture on the social media platform, something musicians are known to do before big announcements. (Dua Lipa, for example, recently did the same thing as she prepared to announce her new album.)
Perry has yet to comment on her social media makeover, and while it could be a simple profile update, that hasn't stopped fans from theorizing about what it might mean.
"Oh there she is, new music coming soon," one excited fan commented on ) could be another sign that she's about to launch. Dropping new music.
Others, however, aren't convinced Perry's update means anything. "I want to be excited about new music, but I don't want to get my hopes up," another fan commented, while some KatyCats were left scratching their heads. "What does this mean?" one user asked.

One year later, fans are still patiently awaiting Perry's next album — and considering she's currently taking a break from American Idol and recently wrapped up her Vegas residency, the timing seems right .
Perry's last studio album , Smile , was released in 2020, just two days after the birth of her daughter, and debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Perry's mysterious post
This isn't the first time Perry's social media activity has intrigued fans. On July 4, Perry confused her 107 million Twitter followers with a cryptic Independence Day post.
The post included five emojis without a title, including a baby, a finger, the letter "A," a flame and an email inbox. "What does this mean? I'm so confused Miss California Goole," one confused fan commented. Eventually, Hello Kitty deciphered her message: It referred to the lyric "Baby you're a firework" from the singer's smash hit single "Firework."
