Lindsay Lohan & Tina Fey reunite at 'Mean Girls' musical premiere

Cady Heron and Ms. Norbury just had a great reunion at North Shore High.

Lindsay Lohan, who played Cady in the 2004 film Mean Girls , made a surprise appearance at the Jan. 8 premiere of the big-screen musical based on the original film.

Lohan reunited with costar Tina Fey, who plays Cady's math teacher Norberry in the hit comedy, which she also wrote, at the New York premiere, according to People of.

Twenty years after the original film was released, fans are excited about Lohan and Fey's "Mean Girls" collaboration.

"Lindsay looks great! Can't believe it's been so long since the Mean Girls premiere," one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

"I love seeing Lindsay and Tina together again," another commented. "I can't wait to see this musical movie."

Previously, Mean Girls cast members Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert appeared alongside Lohan in Walmart's 2023 Black Friday ad. Reunion on the red carpet.

The two-minute spot features Lohan, Chabot and Seyfried playing the roles of Helen, Gretchen Venus and Karen Smith respectively, revealing what OG Plastics is up to today.

Rachel McAdams (aka Plastic Queen Regina George) did not appear in the Walmart ad, later revealing to Variety that she rejected the ad because "it didn't feel like my bag."

"I didn't know everyone was doing it," she added. "Of course, I always loved being a part of a Mean Girls reunion and playing with my plastics, but yeah, I found that out later."

Inspired by the Broadway production of the same name (based on the original 2004 film), Mean Girls reimagines the North Shore High School drama through the medium of song.

Fey wrote the adapted screenplay and reprises her role as Ms. Norbury. Renee Rapp, Aly Cravalho, Christopher Booney, Jacquel Spivey, Bebe Wood, Bessie Phillips, Jon Hamm, Jenna Fisher and Tim Meadows (reprising his role as Principal Duvall) also joins the cast.

Fey recently called the challenge of creating "Mean Girls" a second time with an entirely new cast "very tricky." "The joke has to be a surprise to work," she explained to Entertainment Weekly . "Sometimes I say I feel like I'm in an episode of The Twilight Zone and I'm like, 'Oh, so I'm just going to write this movie for the rest of my life.'"
