That award probably goes to...Taylor Swift. The singer has the potential to make history this year after racking up an impressive six nominations at the 2024 Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year for her record-breaking "Midnights."
Swift is already a 12-time Grammy winner, which means she's just one win away from reaching the lucky number 13. If she wins Album of the Year, she will become the first person to win the top award four times. Following wins for " Fearless " in 2010, "1989" in 2016 and "Folklore" in 2021, she currently ranks alongside Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon and Frank Sinatra in the category.
The past year has been huge for Swift, who received Time magazine's Person of the Year honor in 2023. With that in mind, her chances of picking up more trophies feel high, which begs the question: will Swift perform or just attend the Grammy Awards on February 4 in Santa Monica, California.
Will Swift perform at the Grammys?
Entertainment Tonight reports that Swift will not perform at the 2024 Grammy Awards, although HITS Daily Double reports otherwise. Just days after the ceremony, she will resume her Eras tour in Japan on February 7, with four shows in a row complicating her Super Bowl appearance.
Swift's awards show performances are typically confirmed in advance, but no official announcement has been made yet. She last appeared on the Grammy stage in 2021, performing a medley of songs from her 2020 albums Folklore and Evermore .
Will Swift attend the awards show?
Although Swift is unlikely to perform, she is expected to attend the Grammys, which means she will be there if she wins any awards, ET reports.
Her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, is not expected to accompany her. While the news has not been confirmed, fans believe the Kansas City Chiefs player will be busy ahead of next week's Super Bowl on February 11.
Swift recently attended the 2023 Grammy Awards, where "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)" was nominated for Song of the Year, but lost to Bonnie Raitt's "Just Like That." But she didn't go home empty-handed, as the song's short film won best music video.
At the event, she posed for photos with Bad Bunny, reconnected with ex-boyfriend Harry Styles, had a drink with producer Jack Antonoff, and danced throughout much of the show.
Neither Swift nor the Recording Academy have confirmed her 2024 Grammys plans, but she tends not to announce her appearances in advance.
