Tom Holland hasn't ruled out a return to the Spider-Man universe. According to Collider , Holland told reporters at the Critics Choice Association press conference that he would consider reprising the role of Spider-Man, but on one condition.
While details for the Spider-Man sequel have yet to be confirmed, Holland revealed that he has been "actively involved in discussions about what a fourth incarnation of my character might look like."
Holland added that he feels "very protective of Spider-Man" and would only return to the superhero franchise "if we can find a way to do justice to the character."
"I feel very, very lucky that we get to make a franchise that gets better with every movie," he continued. "I think it's really rare and I want to protect his legacy."
Holland added that he "wouldn't make another one for the sake of making another one." It must have been worth it for the character. "
new trilogy
"Spider-Man" producer Amy Pascal told Fandango in 2021 that Holland would return to the Marvel series for a new trilogy.
"We're getting ready to work on the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel," Pascal said at the time. "We thought it was three movies, and now we're going to talk about the next three. This isn't our last Marvel movie."
Holland has appeared in three Spider-Man movies to date, including 2017's "Spider-Man: Homecoming ," 2019's "Spider-Man: Far From Home ," and 2021's "Spider-Man: No Way Home."
In 2021, Holland said fans should expect "a very different" Peter Parker if he dons the famous Spider-Man suit again.
"This will no longer be a Homecoming trilogy," he told Entertainment Weekly . "We'll give it some time and try to make something different and change the tone of the film."
Spider-Man Sequel Update
Recently, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed to Entertainment Weekly in February 2023 that the next "Spider-Man" sequel is still in the writing stage.
"What I'm saying is we have the story," Fitch said. “We have big ideas for this, and our writers are just now putting them into practice.”
