Good news for Disney Channel fans: More of the Cheetah Girls are coming to Raven-Symoné. While reflecting on the 2003 film on Entertainment Tonight , the actor revealed a possible reunion with cast members Adrienne Baron-Horton, Sabrina Bryan and Keeley Williams.
“[It’s] another moment in culture that empowers girls, empowers fashion, empowers song — I’m so lucky to be a part of it,” she said of the film’s legacy. " It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Cheetah Girls. "
Speaking about the possibility of a sequel, the actor explained how the film's "community of girls" would resonate well with today's teens.
"I come from the generation of foxy girls and things like that," the actor continued. "Things are starting to change a little bit. I think girls are more like, 'I got you, girl,' and being able to reflect that in an iconic, cool, innovative way that makes the cheetah scream ... I mean, I'm going to be a part of it. ”
This early film follows four teenagers - Galeria (Simone), Chanel (Bailon), Aquinette (Williams), Dorinda (Bryan) - The story of earning fame and friendship as part of a musical girl group. The musical film spawned two sequels: 2006's The Cheetah Girls 2 and 2008's The Cheetah Girls: One World . (Notably, Simone did not star in the third installment.)
This isn't the first time she's talked about reviving the story. Talk to E! News in February 2023 revealed that Simone said she would be signing up for another "Cheetah Girls" movie "immediately."
"It's a beautiful thing to encapsulate something and keep it alive," Simeone said at the time. "We're in the era of reboots, honey. We love reboots."
