Taylor Swift is defending Lady Gaga after false pregnancy rumors surfaced online. On June 5, Swift commented on a TikTok post by Gaga, in which Gaga used Swift's lyrics to deny her pregnancy.
"Can we all agree that commenting on women's bodies is invasive and irresponsible," Swift wrote under the singer's TikTok. "Gaga doesn't owe anyone an explanation, and neither does any woman." I owe everyone an explanation.”
Rumors that Gaga might be pregnant arose after photos of the singer attending her sister's wedding circulated online. In her now-viral TikTok, Gaga encouraged fans to register to vote, adding the caption "Not pregnant - just crying my heart out at the gym" - a nod to Swift's song "Down Bad."
The "Joker: Folie à Deux" star also addressed pregnancy rumors by posting a boomerang video of herself winking at the camera on X (formerly Twitter). "Not pregnant... register to vote or check if you're already registered easily at headcount.org," she wrote in the caption.
Gaga has previously responded to comments about her body online. The singer fired back at fans' comments about her weight after her 2017 Super Bowl halftime show performance.
"I hear my body is a topic so I want to say that I am proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too. No matter who you are or what you do," she wrote on Instagram at the time . "I could give you a million reasons why you don't have to cater to anyone or anything to be successful. Just be you, and keep being you. That's the stuff of champions."
