Before "Euphoria" and "Anyone But You," Sidney Sweeney had a guest appearance on "Pretty Little Liars ," but even the star of the show can't be remembered.
On March 24, "Pretty Little Liars" cast members Ashley Benson, Troian Bellisario, Keegan Allen and Tori Torrey DeVitto showed up at the Epic Cons Chicago fan convention, where they were surprised to see Sweeney appear in the show's finale after a fan brought it to their attention.
"Is this true? Who is she playing?" asked panel moderator Ariel Kebbell. In a fan video shot at the event, DeVito was visibly shocked, adding: "I'm in the Twilight Zone."
Sweeney was quickly cast as missing high school student Willa in the 2017 series Until Death Do Us Part.
"I remember this!" Allen said. "Fuck her." Dude. what exactly is it?
When asked if Sweeney's appearance had a specific purpose, Bellisario explained that series creator Marlene King might be setting up the next generation of Pretty Little Liars . "I think she was just saying, 'The story continues,'" she said.
Like the cast, many fans were surprised by Sweeney's cameo , one of many celebrity cameos on the show. "I watched every episode of this series and never noticed she was in the last episode," one fan commented on TikTok. Another fan added, "I had to google this when When I found this out, I screamed."
Based on the book series of the same name by Sarah Shepard, Pretty Little Liars follows a group of teenagers (Benson, Bellisario, Shay Mitchell and Lucy Hale) after their friend Allison goes missing. DiLaurentis (played by Sasha Pieterse) is followed by a mysterious figure named "A".
The hit show aired for seven seasons between 2010 and 2017, spawning two spinoffs , The Perfectionists and Ravenswood , as well as a 2022 Max reboot , Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin .
