In the first two seasons of "Bridgerton, " family matriarch Violet struggled to get her two eldest children married. She will continue to work on the show in the upcoming third season, but some fans are hoping she'll get a chance to have her wants and needs fulfilled. After all, Queen Charlotte reminds us that she is a woman with... her own garden.
Return to bloom?
Ruth Gemmell, who plays Violet, recently teased that her character will have a busier personal life in season three. "I'm so happy that Violet is reintegrating into society and embracing life again," she told First for Women magazine in mid-April. "It's exciting because The Queen is quite heavy. It makes me feel old!"
Between clues like this and the new promo, fans think her garden might be coming sooner rather than later. In a short video released on April 28, Violet can be seen with season 3 newcomers Lord Anderson (Daniel Francis) and Lady Agatha Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) . When he smiled in Violet's direction, she looked back at him with a smile, then turned back and bit her lip. Meanwhile, Lady Danbury overheard the conversation and didn't look too pleased.
"Only time will tell what happens when a gentleman as charismatic as Lord Anderson comes along," the caption teased.
"Violet's face is everything," one fan wrote in the comments, "Lady Danbury disagrees." Others joked about her garden, with one fan writing: "Here's The flowers are blooming!"
A "charming" newcomer
News of Francis joining Lord Anderson was first reported in July 2022 . Deadline describes the new character as "a charismatic man who lights up any room he enters." He is said to have attracted the attention of "certain matriarchs" and the "wrath of others".
With these clues and promos, fans took to Reddit to speculate about his role in season three. Some believe he may have had family ties to Lady Danbury, with some speculating specifically that he was her brother. That being the case, they believed Lady Danbury should not object to Violet's interest. Don't forget, Agatha had a romantic affair with Queen Charlotte 's Violet's father.
"I'm now guessing this is Lady Danbury's brother," one Reddit user commented. "Lady Danbury slept with Violet's father, so it seems only fair that Violet slept with her brother, haha."
Others made more garden jokes, with one looking forward to seeing Violet's adult children dealing with their mom and possibly finding a love interest. "I have no idea how far this will go or how serious it will be, but the idea of the Bridgerton siblings discovering that Violet has a lover is comedy gold," they wrote.
Is Lord Anderson in the Bridgerton books?
Although Violet is a key character in the entire series of Julia Quinn books, she doesn't have a traditional happily ever after love story like her children. Her big romance was with the late Edmund, Lord Bridgerton, and Quinn explains on her website that she once thought Violet would never find love again "because she was so devoted to him." However, while writing the sixth volume, " When He Was Evil ," Quinn was thinking more about second love and why she didn't write one for Violet.
"I've been thinking about it for a while and honestly, I didn't think I could find the right person for her," Quinn explained. "Seriously. I just adore her."
On the other hand, the Bridgerton writing team may have tried this with Lord Anderson. Part 1 of Season 3 will be launched on May 16th, and Part 2 will be launched on June 13th, so we’ll have to wait and see.
