Erica Jayne is in her redemption moment. The singer, best-selling author and "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star fell out of favor with many fans and cast members in 2021 when her then-husband Tom Girardi's ongoing legal scandal came to light. Erica's "lack of empathy" for those affected by alleged corruption crimes, as her co-star Crystal Minkoff put it, sparked years of backlash.
"I feel like I can't catch a break," Erica told Busy Critics. "This is so ugly."
But with the release of her latest dance song "Bounce," some recent legal wins and the eighth season of "RHOBH ," everything seems to be looking up for the self-proclaimed "Pretty Mess," who has long denied she has any Illegal conduct. Knowledge of or participation in the alleged misconduct of her ex-husband.
Erika ended RHOBH Season 13 on a high note last month, linking up with her former critics Gacelle Beauvais and Sutton Stracke. (Unfortunately, her relationship with Denise Richards was not so positive. The two went head-to-head at Kyle Richards's THC dinner, and Denise lip-synced Erica for her finale performance at SoFi Stadium taunting.)
On March 6, Bravo released Erika Jayne: Bet It All on Blonde , a two-part docu-series featuring interviews and behind-the-scenes footage of the housewife as she prepared to star in Mandela Lewan's House of Las Vegas hosts her solo residency. blues. (It's also available to stream on Hayu in the UK.)
“Capturing this journey on film means the whole experience will live on forever,” she says now. "This is more than just a memory. I'm going to relive it."
Below, Erica discusses the 2023 residency, her lip-syncing digs at Denise Richards, and the moment she wishes RHOBH wouldn't be cut.
What was the most challenging part of your Vegas residency?
The hardest part is the preparation. We had a short rehearsal period and only two days to practice in the actual theater.
What is your favorite song to perform?
I would say "Xxpense". I associate it with a moment in time. I also really love my earlier stuff, like “Painkillr.” Performing these songs is very personal and rewarding for me.
Some of your RHOBH cast members stopped by your place. How about it?
This is awesome. Me, Kyle, Dorit [Kemsley] and Lisa Rinna flew Southwest to Vegas. This was the first time we did something together without a camera or a producer present.
What do you think of Denise Richards and Sutton Stracke 's comments about your ticket sales and lip-syncing accusations?
I don’t really care what they think of my show. I'm not performing for my actors. I do this for myself. As for Dennis's comment, that's just part of the game. This is part of the show. She sent me a really nice text after my Season 13 finale show, but I haven't spoken to her since. I'll fix this if she comes back.
Tell me about your run-in with Dennis at Kyle's THC dinner.
I didn't know what she was talking about, and I didn't think she knew either. [ Laughs ] I remember sitting there thinking, ‘What’s going on?’ She couldn’t make her point.
Would you like to see Denise or any of the former Housewives return?
It's always fun to see people reappear. Lisa Rinna is going to be an actress again, which I think is great for her. I'm not sure if Beverly Hills will actually come back full time.
You've expressed frustration with the RHOBH cast's reaction to your legal situation this season. Why is this happening?
I didn’t want the entire team to rush to judgment, but they did. Some of their reactions were influenced by the news and social media. Some actors follow their online fans more than others. They would rather rely on what social media says than have an independent point of view. You can probably guess who they are.
You've been on the show for eight seasons. What is your most iconic RHOBH moment ?
I really do not know. I would make passing comments during the shoot, and then they would appear randomly in front of the audience. This season's trip to Barcelona can be described as "money in the pocket". [ laugh. ] Who would have thought this would become a compelling moment?
Are there any moments from the filming process that you wish would be on the show?
I hope some of the difficult moments I've personally faced over the past few years will be put on full display. But you have to take those hits, and it’s important to remember that you can always get through those speed bumps – and I have such a great project to show it.
