Former Bachelorette Peter Weber is tired of reality TV dating shows. Fans first got to know Weber during Hannah Brown's season of "The Bachelorette" in 2019, and he later appeared on "The Bachelor" Season 24 in 2020. However, the pilot-turned-reality star now wants to "step away from romance shows."
Weber recently told People magazine that The Bachelor franchise "isn't really my strong suit," but he expressed interest in another type of reality TV show. "Any kind of competition show — GI Joe , Survivor — I would definitely look forward to a challenge like that. I would love to push myself and have the ability to see what I'm made of."
Weber recently appeared on Season 2 of Renegades , and according to competition show host Alan Cumming, his Bachelor experience may have helped him in the competition.
"Peter's trajectory on the show is interesting because it illustrates the whole theory that players from shows like Survivor and Big Brother will have an easier time doing well on the show; that's obviously not true," Cumming explained to People magazine . "Peter is a lovable bachelor who has figured it all out and strategized it in a really amazing way."
Weber recently looked back on his single years with Bustle, revealing that the reality dating series "took a toll."
"I try to please people [on The Bachelor ] and give people everything I have and spread that to a lot of different women," he explained. “It was going to catch up to me somewhere, and it eventually did.”
After the 2020 season of "The Bachelor ," Weber broke off his engagement to winner Hannah Ann Sluss and then had a brief relationship with the show's runner-up, Madison Prewett. Weber and Prewett announced their split shortly after the season ended, with the Bachelor star continuing to date fellow contestant Kelly Flanagan until April 2023.
